Is it feasible for us to get to 10 questions per day?

@EkadhSingh we did maintain >10 questions a day for quite a while in 2020, helped by the US election. Since about February, that's dropped back down. Unfortunately, that seems to be the natural ebb and flow of the site; unsurprisingly we get a lot more page visits and questions at certain points in the US election cycle.

@EkadhSingh it also helped a little that the Trump administration was rather unorthodox a lot of the time - lots of unprecedented situations which make interesting questions.

@CDJB how long do you predict it’s going to take before we hit a stable 10 questions per day?

@EkadhSingh It's very hard to say really. I'm sure it's possible, but this site can be quite harsh on perceived low-effort questions. It can be quite difficult for new users to construct questions that show adequate research, but yet aren't answered with a simple google search, while still complying with the usual rules re opinion-based etc.

There already is a mention in the on-topic page of the help center and a faq post about POB questions, and low-effort questions can never be fixed (they are the never-ending bane of Q&A sites), but maybe we need a meta post about being nicer and more welcoming to new users?

Cause without new users this site is eventually going to fail, and we don’t want that
