@DJMcSpookem I have one huge issue with this game: The fact that you can go back to old problems and use new tools to solve them better
I love the puzzles, but if you're going to have scoring so important to the game, at least make the playing field fair
What's the game?
Infinifactory
It's a great game. I think I would recommend it over any other Zachtronics games (at least to the average human)
But Martin has played all of them (I believe), so he has more experience in this matter

@NathanMerrill oh wow, that's really dumb

I don't know if anybody here has played Gremlin's Inc but I just got a 6-card combo!

@NathanMerrill not yet, but it looked fun
Well, it was tons of fun because it was my first real combo: I got the 3-card, 4-card, 5-card, and 6-card combo achievements all in the same turn
It's a decent board game. A bit too much randomness IMO
@DJMcSpookem I'm kinda ambivalent about it. I like the fact that you can go back to old problems and find new solutions with your new tools. But it does mean that the leaderboards are pointless until you unlock all mechanics.
@DJMcSpookem nice work. :D I generally stop optimising cycles in Zachtronics games after a while though ;)
Is there something else you optimize for?
footprint is my favorite to optimize for
I actually still don't understand what exactly the footprint is
Optimizing for blocks leads to some really ridiculous solutions
18:10
The number of squares used from a top-down view
18:32
@DJMcSpookem usually the golfy things, so blocks and footprint in Infinifactory, but generally I tend to optimise early levels, then play through the entire game without optimising and then maybe go back and optimise a few more.
I still need to finish that game though. I stopped in what I think is the final set of levels.
That game is significantly weirder than I was expecting it to be.
Honestly, the puzzles are kinda boring, but the rewards from your corporate overlords, and the food pellets you occasionally get make up for it :P
19:02
@NathanMerrill I would probably recommend starting with Opus Magnum. It's the most approachable and the solutions are really satisfying to watch.
