It has often come up in this room, but I don't know you were here: Did you know that I'm an Army veteran, NSA during the first Gulf War, expert shot with an M16?

I bring it up because it gives me a perspective on the whole gun thing that most people of my political persuasion don't have. I enjoyed going to the range but would not have enjoyed using the gun for anything else.

I had no idea what was about to happen. I had the Guardian live feed on. On laptop, NYT. On TV, CNN.

I thought for few moments where the president was. Why he was not assuaging his cult. He did nothing.

Republican Party was not the party of grandpa anymore.

It had turned to something else.

Biden to address nation from Oval Office tonight at 8pm

Compare how the two presidents reacted to major events:

After Charlottesville, Trump infamously claimed there were fine people on both sides.

Biden showed decency unequivocally and made clear what steps he took so far.

And the media was eating up Joe for making gaffes and being old.
