12:00 AM
Hungary will not compete in next year's Eurovision contest, reportedly because it is 'too gay'. (WARNING: some might find the highlight image of Icelandic techno band Hatari a bit NSFW at a glance)

7 hours later…
7:16 AM
¿So apparently I reported some rule breaking Tulsi Gabbard tweet and they deleted it?
Or the server isn’t doing well today...?
They don’t let me see the damn tweet though
Probably some anti Muslim bullshit

grats lol

like I'm looking at her deleted Tweets on ProPublica but like I can't find anything I remember reporting
Sometimes they say "yup you're right" but don't actually delete it
Some screen I saw for a split second said "this tweet is no longer available" on the report but I can't find it
ok I've asked Twitter Support about it
(obviously they won't answer, but worth a try)

3 hours later…
10:48 AM
Yeah they won't
It doesn't matter

4 hours later…
2:56 PM
Don't shoot at bridges, they're large and not particularly susceptible to them

@Elva They've got 17 AC and like 100 hp

3:24 PM
@Ronan Hopefully you missed something like three zeroes off the HP.

@Frank Are we destroying the whole bridge or just making it collapse?
London bridge does have very big supports though...
But like, a normal human has like 8 hp, max

@fredley wtf is wrong with Ohio. Seriously.
The anti-abortion movement in Canada has been making a concentrated effort to get anti-abortion politicians (aka cons) into office, and it's making horrifying gains.
It's bad enough hearing about this shit happening so close to us. It better not migrate north, but there's plenty of folks trying to make it so.

@Ronan According to Fantasy High Live, the normal human has 10 HP.
Who still dies in one hit, granted.

@fredley I can certainly understand how a reasonable person can have objections to abortions, but shit like this is just completely insane.
> Chief Dan Kinsella says apology will include plan for improving relations between police and black community

4:06 PM
@Frank roll20 says 5e commoners have 1d8 hp, roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Commoner#content

@Ronan Then I'll take your word for it. I play 4e, and just watch Dimension 20 for their entertainment value.

@Frank I haven't been watching their live series, how is it?

@Ronan Decent. Less production values, but continues the story well.
Hence how I learned commoners are really common.

You can only access the vods if you're a sub and I'm not awake when it's live

It's a weekly thing for my wife and I.
@Ronan They say Twitch hosts the latest episode for six days before it goes onto Dropout.
We watch on Dropout. Subscribed for that alone.

4:11 PM
Yeah I might subscribe so I can binge over christmas

Well worth it.
Unsleeping City is different, but arguably better than Fantasy High.
Fun fact: my wife found it on Youtube, introduced me to it, and it's kind of started our own D&D craze.

@fredley Like, we literally do not have the technology to do this right now
This is like that time when another state senate tried to legislate that Pi=3

4:35 PM
@Nzall Yeah we do!
Open woman, insert pregnancy, close woman.

Will the mother or the fetus survive? Who cares, it's not about that, it's about punishing women for having sex!

4:51 PM
@fredley huh, just logged into this room on mobile to post the same thing

Really gets you in the mood for an election, a terror attack on London Bridge.

user15026
5:32 PM
@fredley This makes me so angry because it's just going to kill people. It's not actually going to do anything.

user15026
@fredley Wait for fetus to...still not be viable, and possibly woman to die.

user15026
sigh

6:08 PM
@fredley waiting for the BBC to pin this on labour somehow

@GodEmperorDune Imagine if it's a crazy Brexit supporter...

@Nzall I mean we had a brexit supporter terrorist that killed that remainer MP before the vote

7:04 PM
@GodEmperorDune But what does this person we found in a pub in the Shetlands think of this?

2 hours later…
8:55 PM
The Supreme Court of Canada has ordered that a woman who was arrested for refusing to hold an escalator handrail in a Metro station in Laval, Que., be awarded $20,000 in damages. cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/…
> Bela Kosoian was at the Montmorency Metro station in 2009 when a police officer told her to respect a pictogram with the instruction "Hold the handrail."
> She was arrested, detained for 30 minutes and finally let go with two tickets: one for $100 for disobeying a pictogram and a $320 fine for obstructing the work of an inspector.
> Her suit was rejected by Quebec court in 2015 and by the Quebec Court of Appeal in 2017, which said Kosoian was the "author of her own misfortune."
Fuck Quebec, seriously
Luckily the Supreme Court is better
> The judges wrote in their decision that Kosoian was "entitled to refuse to obey an unlawful order and therefore committed no fault" in the case.

9:12 PM
More than 750 front-line nurses are to be laid off under a "massive downsizing" at Alberta Health Services (AHS), the United Nurses of Alberta said Friday. cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/…

@Wipqozn yeah that was a ridiculous ticket to give

> Opposition NDP health critic David Shepherd said nurses have consistently talked about facilities being understaffed.
When people inevitably die due to this, can we please charge Jason and his party with murder?
@GodEmperorDune Yeah, it's crazy. Power tripping cop.

@Wipqozn hang on, what was the unlawful order here?

@Nzall cop telling her to hold the handrail

I think what they're essentially going for here is "that guy can't just make you do shit, you don't have to listen, especially since it isn't illegal to just ride an escalator"

9:25 PM
Yes. An earlier version of the story, I think, made it clear that putting something on a sign doesn't magically make it some law cops can force you to follow
As in, the court said that

9:38 PM
@Wipqozn God I hope not, especially if the sign wasn't placed there by the government
Otherwise I could place a sign on Main Street that says "give me 10 dollars"

Like in some cases it makes sense and is the law
For instance, in the state of Ohio it is a misdemeanor to ignore safety related instructions given by ride operations staff at department of agriculture regulated rides

10:12 PM
The latest of hot takes directly from Twitter

Not really what this room is meant for, but that's a pretty shitty take, yes.

10:56 PM
@Wipqozn I wish
