Not only do they have to pay to use the phone but they've been switching to video calling to both justify raising the rate and limiting actual visitation rights
> The parents in many of these groups, which have ranged from tens to tens of thousands of members, believe that autism is caused by a hodgepodge of phenomena, including viruses, bacteria, fungal infections, parasites, heavy metal poisoning from vaccines, general inflammation, allergies, gluten and even the moon.
> Some parents credit turpentine or their children’s own urine as the secret miracle drug for reversing autism. One of the most sought-after chemicals is chlorine dioxide — a compound that the FDA warns amounts to industrial bleach, and doctors say can cause permanent harm.

> “My son is constantly making a gasping sound,” posted one Kansas mother who claimed to treat her adult son with chlorine dioxide, according to screenshots shared by Eaton and Seigler. “He won’t open his mouth,” a Canadian mom wrote of her 2-year-old’s unwillingness to drink the chlorine dioxide. “He screams. Spits. Flips over.”
posted before but every time i read it i just don't understand how people are so fucken stupid to do this to their own children and think it's working
like it's one thing for the monsters who are pushing that crap but it's another when it's actual parents and wonder why their kids are fighting back so much
"oh my two year old wont take their dose of chlorine dioxide". yeh well in just 2 years the kid has gotten more brains than their parent and know it's bad for them
@Wipqozn Hot take: the anti-vaxx movement is exactly equivalent to falsely shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater. They should not be protected by free speech laws and they should be held liable for the people who died from not getting vaccines
Except replace the vaccine words with the proper context
OKay well now I have to go, BUT ,I was hoping you'd star it @Memor-X. Then I'd cancel the stars, and go "Stars are reserve for NEWS ITEMS ONLY PLEEEEEEAAASSSSEE". IT would've been hilarious.

@Wipqozn oh they're everywhere. People are convinced stuff like mms and chelation cures their kids.

Also the person in the article going "they need to ban her IP" just...i get what you want to happen but that's not how it works.

(okay maybe theoretically with a static assignment you could but that's a lot of work for that)
Okay, more results are trickling in. Only a few stations counted yet, but they seem to be encouraging for me: the right wing party is losing votes to the extreme right wing party, but all other parties have an agreement to not govern together with the extreme right wing party
@Memor-X The right-wing party already is in the government (or rather, was, before they blew up the government because of the Marrakech agreement), but they're not as extreme as the extreme right wing party
Brown is far-right, yellow is slightly less right, orange is center-right, blue is liberals, red is socialists, blueish green is green party and purple is communists
So yeah, 44% of Flemish people voted for the far right or far-right lite
And that's even while knowing that EVERY party has agreed to what's called the "Cordon Sanitaire", which is an agreement to not govern together with Far-Right
at any level. As in, people have literally defected from their party to form unsanctioned coalitions with opposing parties so that Vlaams Belang (or rather their local chapter for that town Forza Ninove) wouldn't get to run the city
@Nzall I'm relieved that our own far-right seems to mostly hit a wall on federal or european elections. They're still much stronger than they were before, but at 11% it's still manageable.
Oooh, federally green, red, blue is currently possible. They have exactly the required numbers. Which is a terrible base to get anything done during their term, but it would be mathematically possible.
@TimStone you know what also works? impassible gridlock. people then get sick and tired of being in their cars most of the time and decide to walk or ride a bike
