> That’s what the State’s Governor, Phil Murphy, apparently meant today, when he said at a press conference that the State needed volunteers who with “Cobalt” computer skills to help fix 40-year-old-plus unemployment insurance systems that are currently overwhelmed as a result of COVID-19-related job losses.
I, for one, am shocked that the government hasn't properly invested and maintained it's infrastructure for helping those in need, and I'm equally shocked they refuse to pay anyone to fix it.
Also finding COBOL programmers willing to work for free is rather laughable. No one with experience in COBOL is looking for any sort of work. They're all getting paid truckloads in the banking industry, which is built on languages like COBOL.
