firing Rosenstein is likely bad because as Deputy Attorney General, he is the only one in the executive branch who can fire Mueller and stop the Mueller investigation. So any replacement would have the firing authority

But with Lindsey Graham and Bill Mitchell both going against the story I don't even know!

Plus Trump's definitely going to fire Sessions anyway, so Rosenstein may or may not still be relevant

anyway @ash some historical context here is that firing attorney generals in order to go down the chain to someone who would stop an investigation into the presidency is what Nixon did (the event is called the Saturday night Massacre) and what caused Nixon to resign rather than be impeached
