Officials are defending closing almost all of the polling places in a majority black county in Georgia, saying the locations aren't compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ACLU and local residents think their justification is absurd https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/randolph-county-polling-places_us_5b77115ce4b0a5b1febb04fc?d7m

@Wipqozn -checks oh would you look at that, it is! ;)

Pretty much. The GOP have been doing shit like this for years. They were even foudn guilty of voter suppression of black voters last year iirc.

Yep, it's a beloved tactic

> Thirty-five years after it was first imposed, a judge has lifted a consent decree barring the Republican National Committee from pursuing “ballot security” measures.
> The consent decree was updated in 1987 after Republicans created a voter-challenge list of black voters from whom letters had been returned as undeliverable, with an RNC official saying that the list could “keep the black vote down considerably.” The decree was modified again in 1990 after a court ruled the RNC had violated it by not telling state parties about its provisions, which had led to the North Carolina GOP sending 150,000 postcards to potential...
> ...voters listing voting regulations, in an apparent attempt at intimidation. The GOP violated the court order again in 2004 after yet another voter-challenge list targeted black voters.

The president is mad online again
The failing @nytimes wrote a Fake piece today implying that because White House Councel Don McGahn was giving hours of testimony to the Special Councel, he must be a John Dean type “RAT.” But I allowed him and all others to testify - I didn’t have to. I have nothing to hide......
Generally one doesn’t call cooperating with the cops “a rat”

4:06 PM
@GodEmperorDune Well that's not true, it's just that it's a term only used by criminals...
Also allowed them to testify? Okay then

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey: I "fully admit" our bias is "more left-leaning" http://hill.cm/ZGiuXU1
Oh god Jack doesn't know left from right this all makes sense now

@TimStone misleading headline tho
> Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Saturday that he "fully admit[s]" Twitter employees share a largely left-leaning bias
that may be true even though the platform userbase is full of nazis

6:35 PM
Is it really?

Well the implication is that there's concerns about the supposed internal bias influencing moderation but Jack followed Weird Mike & co and I'm not convinced about the point regardless
Saying people who don't have any influence over the situation are left-leaning is like ???
I mean they could tell us a baseline of how many seemingly-nazi-types there are since they flag them to not show them in Germany et al, but I don't believe they have

Rudy Giuliani has eclipsed Kellyanne Conway's "alternative facts" with "truth isn't truth." http://apne.ws/bGTfZgQ
Thing is, he does have sort of a point. I've had long discussions with my auticoach (therapist sort of) about objective and subjective truths and how 2 people can look at the same objective truth (This shirt has hex color #c5e4d7) and come to different subjective truths (this shirt is blue/green)

10:05 PM
i don't think rudy is trying for a rashoman thing here, that is a VERY generous take

There's a very big difference between minor variations in how people separate color perception into named clusters, and actual events and statements and other objective things.
