@Silverfish Every site is different regarding the flagging load, so to be really sure you would have to ask the current moderators. However, assuming that the current moderators are not much more active than your average moderator, you should do more than fine if you translate your current review performance to flags.

Q: Moderator Election - We need more candidates!

Grace NoteIn about 6 hours, the nomination phase of the moderator elections is scheduled to end. However, in order for the election to proceed, it is necessary to have at least one more candidate running than there are slots. This allows for there to be actual voting phases, so that the community can actua...

It'd be better heard from the actual moderator team as to what they feel is needed from extra, but part of the reason we have teams of moderators is to split the load, not just in terms of divvying the flag load across the team but also divvying other tasks as a whole point. Some mods may prefer working on certain aspects of site moderation over others, which can avoid being detrimental if it allows the other mods on the team to have more time to work on the other stuff for example.

@GraceNote The site stats show that over the life of this site I have performed the majority of many moderation tasks, including closing and deleting questions, commenting, and managing comments. I intend to reduce my activity after this election, leaving five moderators (three of them active) plus the new ones to pick up the slack. That should help you determine the amount and kind of assistance the moderation team will need.

I nominated myself with 3 minutes left until the deadline, but it seems the nomination period has already been extended for a week. Perhaps it's a good thing.

@amoeba Yeah, we make the call a bit earlier than the deadline (I went for half an hour this time, because we were also killing the election on Data Science... to varying degrees of success).
@GraceNote So I take it we will have 7 more days now?
You might want to edit your Meta template for the future :) The text you used says 20:00 UTC very clearly. Not that it's very important but still.
@GraceNote I looked up what happened on DataScience: it seems that they did not have enough candidates even after additional week. Well, here on CrossValidated we are pretty sure that DataScience.SE should not exist at all (we had Meta discussions about it, with pretty strong consensus) so I cannot help smirking.

@amoeba I did but thankfully I have the ability to fuzzy things.
