6:08 AM
Well... morning!

2 hours later…
8:10 AM
It sure is a morning, my phone has decided that its not connecting to wifi right now which is really annoying

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

8:21 AM
i'm worried that if i do that i'll be forced to update it

Ah. Well maybe that's why the wifi is malfunctioning too then, it needs an update :P

hmmm possible, one of the IT guys said someone with a huwaea phone was also having issues so maybe it is an android thing

They might end up telling you to upgrade then, but I'd let IT figure this out. I don't have much knowledge when it comes to phones XD

8:50 AM
saame, i'm a PC hardware person who knows a bit about excel

Oh, you know about excel? :D Maybe this is something that interests you then: youtube.com/watch?v=x1RVNGDSdw4 :D

9:35 AM
@Tinkeringbell i'm so annoyed that this fixed my issue and it wouldn't have occured to me to try this
but yes! the excel esports are fantastic and the esports organisation "Excel gaming" - who mainly do league of legends, was accidentally tagged a bunch by mistake

Hahaha
I saw a link on Twitter during my vacation, and returned today to at least 3 different messages on Teams (different channels/chats) with people linking it. It does seem quite popular ;)

I don't think i'm quite that sad yet

Hahaha
I put it on a list to watch someday. I get bored sometimes, especially during heatwaves/hot days. Of which there are some predicted for this week again :(

If you have netflix, the new series "the sandman" is excellent viewing

I don't know if I still have netflix. My brother mentioned wanting to cancel the subscription and since I didn't use it much, I said sure.
(We all shared one subscription back when we still lived with my parents)

9:51 AM
fair enough, it has gotten more expensive as of late

10:12 AM
Yeah, and to be honest I haven't been using it much. I also have 'regular' TV now, and am mostly watching things back on the Discovery/History channel in the evenings. I rarely run out of things to watch back, and those two channels have as an added benefit that if you watch later (and not live), you can just fast-forward the commercials.

I cannot remember the last time I used actual cable tv... on demand is so much better for me

Yeah, so I have 'digital TV' that allows me to watch things back 'on demand' :D
I have actually watched some shows that I like during my vacation, and not used the 'on demand' button :)

oh thats interesting

It's a great thing. It was even greater when it just started: Then on basically every channel you could watch on-demand, and skip the commercials. Now most commercial channels have blocked fast-forwarding entirely when watching on-demand.
There is a small workaround where you can schedule a 'recording' of a show (kinda like you would videotape it in ages past), and it will use some disk space to save a copy. Then you can fast-forward again...

I remember, back when we had Sky we'd have to set shows to record but couldn't record more than like two at once or something
and they'd occasionally fail if there were connectivity issues

11:01 AM
@AlexRobinson it is. The extra episode was amazing

2 hours later…
1:17 PM
@JourneymanGeek i'm only a few episodes in at the moment, but it is quintessential Neil Gaiman and very faithful to his style

@AlexRobinson I'll not spoil it then
but I accidentally bingewatched all of the season.

As much as it pains me, overall I think I enjoy a series more when they release an episode a week. If I binge something yeah I get the instant satisfaction but I end up missing a lot of details by not taking the additional time to think about it
Better Caul Saul was amazingly well done and having to wait definitely added a lot

lol
I wasn't intending to
And yeah, I feel that way about the mandalorian

1:37 PM
I watched a few episodes of that show but idk. it just felt like a western but in space

5 hours later…

Q: How to ignore and not engage in heartbreaking talks with beggers?

user2139129My firm belief is engaging in talks and giving money to beggers is a mistake. But it seems in the last several years I got scammed at least several times: Before 4 years two boys asked me for money but at least I "negotiated" buying them food. Before 1 year on the supermarket's parking I talked ...
