:( if the rumors are true, I'm going to lose my waste bins and instead will be forced to use plastic bags that you need to walk to an underground container when full :( that would suck
No, it means more stench as you're now having to keep way more trash in your home (at higher temperatures in winter too) instead of taking it out each evening after cooking :(
And there's nothing wrong with rolling out the bin once in a while!
@Tinkeringbell ouch, that is different... we pay the 'afvalstoffenverwijderingsbijdrage' annually, but even those places with locked underground containers just need to swipe for access, no payments there
@MiG Yeah we'd have to swipe for access and be charged per swipe, basically. So it will end up much more expensive if you want to take out the trash each day
And less easy to get rid of big stuff too. Now I can fit an entire disassembled desk chair in the bin, if they switch to underground I will have to drive that two cities over... The driving alone is more expensive than getting the bin emptied an extra time XD
Let alone.. I think it's less environmentally friendly to have everyone using plastic bags and still have to drive a truck out here for collection XD
Also, Monday might be a good day to keep an eye on MSE:
We are being hit by a large evolving DDoS attack, official answer coming Monday. — Josh Zhang7 hours ago
This question has been going in my mind since 5-6 months. I live in a poor 3rd world Asian country which is highly capitalistic.( To some cultures this problem might sound exagerration but this is 100% true happened to me , not a single exagerration). Background became a bit big but I think ther...
i just married few months ago and I want to know which oil is best for intercourse? Olive or coconut or other. Which is medicaly proven as safe for your skin.
@MiG To be honest, as long as you can keep out the identifying information, this is a real possibility I've been considering too XD just take out my trash each evening but not to the underground container. There's a public trashcan near a bench in the forest too :P
@Tinkeringbell If your own containers are in the garden, there's nothing stopping you from keeping those around is there? And using them as a waystation so you can keep the stinky trash outside :)
@Tinkeringbell Yeah I guess... Just figured it might be an actual defined term for something specific
The only gripe I had was we were working from what seemed to be the only large restaurant / bar / conference room in town, and a lot of the food they had was a bit too greasy... That does not sit well with me :(
Forgot what it was called, they served Vos beer (I still have a glass here :D )
@Tinkeringbell Can't comment on the circularity aspects of your region's waste management system without more data I'm afraid, so I don't know if it's more or less circular
Ah, Restaurant de Haas
The hotel was full, so I got to stay at B&B de kleine Vesting... which was amazing <3
@MiG Hahaha yeah de Haas is pretty "famous" in the area.
My friends and me love lunchroombijellen.nl/over-ons. it's located at a crossroads so lots of people to watch, and the cocktails/food are great (as is the service!)
Though bijellen is great for during the day, if you want an evening out, go for the latter. :P
@MiG As far as I can see, it's not that great. I can't even find proper info on what I can/can't separate, as far as I can see everything (paper, GFT and other waste) all go in a single underground dumpster
@Tinkeringbell bookmarked that one, looks like there might be a follow-up on our study this year... Also, would love to show gf around that place :)
@Tinkeringbell That does not sound like a good combination... The only novel and accepted one I'm aware of is PMD, and that makes sense, as those three streams differ in buoyancy and magnetic properties, so they can be separated mechanically
