:( if the rumors are true, I'm going to lose my waste bins and instead will be forced to use plastic bags that you need to walk to an underground container when full :( that would suck

MiG
Just means less stench tbh, also no rolling out your bins at a specified window or it'll stay full :)
also, morning :)

No, it means more stench as you're now having to keep way more trash in your home (at higher temperatures in winter too) instead of taking it out each evening after cooking :(
And there's nothing wrong with rolling out the bin once in a while!
And yeah, morning ;)

MiG
@Tinkeringbell Ah ok, I just double pack said trash, that usually keeps the smell from meat out for a while
and with raw stuff, like from chicken, I bring it out immediately on its own instead of with the rest of the bag
love the post lockdown situation btw... we went out for an amazing dinner and afterwards drinks last night, and this afternoon we go to the museum :)

10:17 AM
@MiG Yeah that would be a waste of money if I lose the bins. Because then you have to pay each time you use the underground ones.
@MiG hahaha I'm going to IKEA with a friend in about two hours (she needs a nap first).
I do like that the supermarkets are open late these days again :D

MiG
@Tinkeringbell ouch, that is different... we pay the 'afvalstoffenverwijderingsbijdrage' annually, but even those places with locked underground containers just need to swipe for access, no payments there
@Tinkeringbell yeah, I got very used to 10pm :)

1 hour later…
11:31 AM
@MiG Yeah we'd have to swipe for access and be charged per swipe, basically. So it will end up much more expensive if you want to take out the trash each day
And less easy to get rid of big stuff too. Now I can fit an entire disassembled desk chair in the bin, if they switch to underground I will have to drive that two cities over... The driving alone is more expensive than getting the bin emptied an extra time XD
Let alone.. I think it's less environmentally friendly to have everyone using plastic bags and still have to drive a truck out here for collection XD
Also, Monday might be a good day to keep an eye on MSE:
We are being hit by a large evolving DDoS attack, official answer coming Monday. — Josh Zhang 7 hours ago
That could be one interesting answer

Q: How to deal with the people who mock my career choices and make to feel me less than equal due to it and make me agree to do things I don't want todo?

WhoThis question has been going in my mind since 5-6 months. I live in a poor 3rd world Asian country which is highly capitalistic.( To some cultures this problem might sound exagerration but this is 100% true happened to me , not a single exagerration). Background became a bit big but I think ther...

@Tinkeringbell strange choice... this will get people to drop their bags whereever so they don't have to pay said charge
@Tinkeringbell wtf?

@MiG To be honest, as long as you can keep out the identifying information, this is a real possibility I've been considering too XD just take out my trash each evening but not to the underground container. There's a public trashcan near a bench in the forest too :P
@MiG It's apparently been going on for a while now: meta.stackexchange.com/a/375120/369802

6:54 PM
@Tinkeringbell Didn't mean to encourage that tbh :P
@Tinkeringbell Glad it's a pathetic one then, if all they can do is make SE stop displaying page 1000 of something :)
What makes it an 'evolving' dDoS attack anyway?

@MiG Probably something like "put up counter-measure" - increasing ddos attack intensity - put up more measures - etc.
@MiG hey at least I'd still be using a garbage can, and not just dropping it in the woods at random!
I'll first wait and see if the rumors are true.

MiG
@Tinkeringbell If your own containers are in the garden, there's nothing stopping you from keeping those around is there? And using them as a waystation so you can keep the stinky trash outside :)
@Tinkeringbell Yeah I guess... Just figured it might be an actual defined term for something specific

@MiG Eh, the bins I have now are provided by aconov. Big chance I have to " return " those when they do install an underground dump

MiG
@Tinkeringbell Don't know aconov, but you can always pick up another bin at IKEA/blokker/kwantum/leenbakker/etc :)
oh lol, they serve Elburg... been there for a research project last year :)

7:20 PM
@MiG Elburg is nice! It's not where I live but it's a great place to just sit on a terrace in summer :)
@MiG yeah, maybe that's my next step if the rumors are true
Though I'm still pissed that this means I will have to spend more money on bin bags, and add to the plastic waste even more.

@Tinkeringbell Soooo cute the fortified town <3
The only gripe I had was we were working from what seemed to be the only large restaurant / bar / conference room in town, and a lot of the food they had was a bit too greasy... That does not sit well with me :(
Forgot what it was called, they served Vos beer (I still have a glass here :D )
@Tinkeringbell Can't comment on the circularity aspects of your region's waste management system without more data I'm afraid, so I don't know if it's more or less circular
Ah, Restaurant de Haas
The hotel was full, so I got to stay at B&B de kleine Vesting... which was amazing <3
Had an entire apartment to myself :D

9:08 PM
@MiG Hahaha yeah de Haas is pretty "famous" in the area.
My friends and me love lunchroombijellen.nl/over-ons. it's located at a crossroads so lots of people to watch, and the cocktails/food are great (as is the service!)
Darn, wrong link. This one: zilverzoen.nl/menu
Though bijellen is great for during the day, if you want an evening out, go for the latter. :P
@MiG As far as I can see, it's not that great. I can't even find proper info on what I can/can't separate, as far as I can see everything (paper, GFT and other waste) all go in a single underground dumpster

10:39 PM
@Tinkeringbell bookmarked that one, looks like there might be a follow-up on our study this year... Also, would love to show gf around that place :)
@Tinkeringbell That does not sound like a good combination... The only novel and accepted one I'm aware of is PMD, and that makes sense, as those three streams differ in buoyancy and magnetic properties, so they can be separated mechanically
