9:19 AM
oooh dead chat?

Not anymore ;)
How are you?

ayy
not too bad :) you?

Same :)
I'm getting hungry, I want lunchbreak NOW

oh yeah me too
meeting though :/
is the lockdown supposed to lift any time soon for you?
By next monday I can get up to 100km away from my house

The government presented some kind of roadmap yesterday. Lemme translate :)

9:28 AM
Sadly my family lives farther away than that

Morning!
not dead yet :P

haha
Monking :)

May 11th:
- Contactjobs are allowed again (Hairdressers, beauticians, pedicures, driving instructors).
Still try and keep 1,5m distance, customers have to be vetted for health, not in a risk group (elderly, morbidly obese, pre-existing condition) and only by appointment.
- Everyone is allowed to do sports again outside. Keep 1,5m distance. Contactsports are still forbidden. Shower at home, no competitions.
- Libraries open.
- Indoor pools open again, for minors only.
- Elementary schools open again, kids will go to school half the time. Special education is open entirely, as well as daycare.
Pfew. Long list :D
@avazula a 100 km is nice!

oh wow
schools reopen here, but not restaurants/pools/theaters, and so on.
Everyone gets back to work
But only lands that aren't very hurt by Covid will have quarantine lifted
I'm lucky to be in a green-rated area
I'll still fully WFH for another couple months though

Yeah, I don't really know what to expect with regards to the work from home. I work for a large network operator and while I can do my job perfectly fine from home (I don't have to go out and replace cables :P) the entire company has been labelled 'essential' and so they could technically require office presence.

I hope they have enough common sense to not do so.
I should prepare for public transport though, I think. Make myself a mouth mask or two.

9:43 AM
I hope so too. Over here the gov told the companies to maintain WFH if possible. But I'll order some masks and shields for other hangouts
"hangouts" I mean, grocery shopping

Grocery shopping here is actually nice! Limits on the amount of people in the supermarket + one way lanes really make it much more enjoyable. You can just go in, grab what you need, and out again, without having to dodge everyone :D

heh. Ppl don't really respect the rules in the shops over here

They're getting better at it here. Yay for Dutch social policing :)

ayy :)

It's really funny how guilty people will look when they thought the aisle was empty, so they go the wrong way... And then you turn your cart into the same aisle. XD
It's even better when you tell them that the thing is one-way, and don't move an inch so they have to apologize and turn around XD

9:54 AM
you're mean lol

I know. But it's my safety too!
Don't forget I'm still morbidly obese so people going the wrong way in supermarkets are super dangerous to me. XD

Oh my bad I thought you were doing that to mess with them ^^
I know people take a lot of pleasure for making me apologize when I want something that's behind their cart and yet they don't move even after I said sorry

@avazula Eh, that's a different kind of pleasure, because here it's the people breaking the rules having the pleasure instead of the ones living by it?
And yeah, I'm letting people know they break the rules and it's satisfactory, especially if like I said you see how guilty they look because they know what they're doing is wrong.

mmh :/

But it's not like I'm purposefully messing with them, just sticking to the rules.

10:02 AM
sure
I just don't understand people who break the rules on purpose lol

Me neither.
I guess the convenience of 'long empty aisle I need something from, on the other end of the aisle' and the assumption that the aisle will stay empty? I dunno...
Luckily most of the policing is done by staff, not other shoppers ;) And there's always staff to fall back on if things go south (mom had that happen)
Any plans for your first <100km trip? ;)

Well I have to move houses
So that's gonna be a 3km ride lmao
I won't go very far though, my farthest trips will be for buying stuff to renovate the house
I don't see the point of travelling if it's not to see my fam and relatives

Moving is going to happen? Yay!
I'd love to see what you did to the place once you finish renovating :)

That looks similar to the plans here :) Though I like how ours are structured by date instead of category :)

10:15 AM
students that are coming back to school can't leave the room apparently (breaks i suppose)
@Tinkeringbell there are by date
but the website choose to do it this way

Yeah, I understand :)

1 hour later…
11:33 AM
@Tinkeringbell I don't have a final date yet but yeah I hope for it to be soon
It won't be fully renovated any time soon but yeah I will :)

3 hours later…
2:11 PM
5 hours after i sent an email to the store where i bought my package, it changed status to 'in progress' :P
hopefully it means tomorrow is the day

2:28 PM
25% furlough was increased to 40%
fun

2:54 PM
:(
But less rants to listen to?

Q: Helping with Business Grammar

JenInCodeWe have some employees who frequently communicate with customers. These employees are native English speakers and yet somehow their written communications come across as though they really struggle with the language. It is difficult, because many sentences do not make sense in the body of a commu...

3:56 PM
@Tinkeringbell to be seen

@Magisch Fingers crossed ;)
