@dhein You're probably better off letting that discussion go. They're not gonna change their stance. They think they did nothing wrong, we know better. You're just gonna feel horrible. I deleted my account there.
@IPSCommentBot do you live? Can we have a cat picture for @dhein?
I'll be cat-bot then

12:51 AM
@Belle Well, I tried already to let it go like 2 days ago, but I keep getting pings. I am actually considering getting my account there deleted, too. But dunno, what would it change? I will ocassionally still land there due to their catchy hnq titles 😩
Thank you. For the cat :)

@dhein Yeah, we really need a feature to be able to unfollow one of your question/answer/comment. But, in the meantime, you can always make your post anonymous so you won't be pinged anymore.
I just read the sifi chat discussion of this meta post. Lots of love to you ❤

Q: When you are overqualified and it looks like you are showing off

OokerI'm writing an application to a summer school. The school will teach a range of topics and I admit that I may be over qualified for some. That means: I may have more knowledge with other applicants Some topics may teach what I already know Some knowledge I have may even be unique perspectives t...

Q: How to resolve a conflict with a noisy neighbor and a passive landlord?

Andii(This is mostly a copy of a question I asked over at Law.SE. I'm reposting it here following the advice of a commenter to look for solutions with a more interpersonal appraoch.) I have a friend who lives in the Netherlands, let's call her Allison. Both her and her neighbor (let's call him Bob) l...

@ExtrovertedMainMan this seems kinda borderline on-topic here... I updated tags at least, "cv" is certainly not an interpersonal skill

5:35 PM
@EmC I agree, but I assumed it was based on the fact it wasn't migrated
the "showing off" thing is kinda IPS stuff though

@ArthurHavlicek ehh don't assume mods already saw it if they haven't interacted :p
sometimes I'll wait for other people to suggest it first, especially if it's borderline (the "showing off" part is what made me unsure too). since some users go "oh, a mod said that, I better repost it without trying to edit/discuss further"

I really like Kate's answer there, I hope it compensate for being slightly off topic :D
I also didn't see close vote to off-topic.

yeah, the 2 right now are for "needs details or clarity", so those could've been before the edits/comments even
plus it's the weekend, reviewing slows down a bit

Can someone help me, I have trouble understanding a comment
> Thinking about this more, I'm not understanding why the NVC process doesn't work. Isn't the result of the discussions you're talking about supposed to be a request for the whole of whatever body is to be subject to it?

I'm not a very understanding person but I can try

the last part is confusing me

@ArthurHavlicek O.o Context?

Q: How to deal with mild verbal aggressiveness in debates?

Arthur HavlicekI usually try to live by and follow non-violent communication (NVC) principles in my interactions with others. I don't always express myself following a "Observation / Feeling / Need / Request" pattern, but I do follow a few values of NVC: absence of judgement and power relations, trying to fulfi...

Interesting. The words are English but the sentence isn't O.o

6:25 PM
I think i understand but I'm not sure

I have no frigging idea.
Is it NVC jargon?
"request"

request is nvc jargon, the rest isnt
and it's not far from the actual meaning of
a request

OK, that's why I'm not getting it

I think he means, taking politics for example "isn't the politic talk supposed to end in a request from you to a political body"

Uh, no it's not?

Q: How to apologize about a broken relation?

totalMongotI have a relative, with which I had bad behaviour. Not rude, not mean, just that I had not the good words, I did not send much text messages, and thus I was not there when this relative needed me (no big issues were faced, though). Now, I have an awkaward relation with this relative: I usually m...

Q: Refusing to let people in

bqwyevoscI work in a facility where it is open to the public except for a small section. I work in this section and this section requires an access card when entering the door (anyone can buy one, but it is expensive). Inside this section is many expensive equipments. @ExtrovertedMainMan Wouldn't this be better answered at twp ? There are possible actions that aren't direct interaction with the person that asks to get in (i.e. "tell your manager")
