@ArthurHv I got that too sometimes. "Thankfully", if I'm already tired and just eat a meal, then my brain basically shutdown and not sleeping becomes the issue (it's really annoying after lunch but it's also kind of convenient if I'm having insomnia)

In other news: today I am hoping that when my mother catches the virus she will have very not nice symptoms because then, maybe, she would finally take all this SERIOUSLY! (for now she is like "oh, but I'm healthy, this virus won't hurt me" and acting in a way like she doesn't care if someone else catches it because of her)

My brother and father are like that. My mother... is somewhere in between, I'd say. She isn't taking it as serious as she could, but she's not as careless as the rest.

My father is taking it very seriously. For my little sister, I think she is as careful as she can except with her SO (with whom she isn't careful at all)

@ArthurHv The answer is always "don't worry, I wear a mask", so...

And she probably endangers her friends more than me. I mean, she works in an "old people house" where half of them have covid, so she will catch it eventually and I'm already living with her so I have a 50% chance of catching it when she does. But she doesn't need to see her friends. It's just reckeless

Also, she always makes fun of me whenever I express worry about the virus...

And the fact that some of her friends send conspiracy video about everything isn't helping either

And she kind of believe that people with no symptoms aren't dangerous. But it's simply not true. They are the one who spread the disease the most!

She thinks that, if someone isn't coughing, then everything is fine

To be fair, some of my family are the same.

We have a 'schedule' for visiting the grandparents, and I've walked in twice just to go straight back home because an aunt was there while it wasn't her turn.

You could try to recall here what are scientific evidence, what is the law and governmental precautions, but I'm afraid this wouldn't do much. For most part this people claim their right to be free, something I can understand, as much as I understand your concern.

My father admitted breaking the law during first lockdown. I don't expect much precautions to be taken by him, although he has fragile respiratory system

And if something is a video, she will ask us to "tell me about it" instead of watching it

And, in any case, she just doesn't care about the truth

She just want to believe in what is "better" for her

I don't think there is something that will do, it's just my point, if someone isn't thinking rationally but just believe because they want to believe then what are you going to do

it's as pointless as trying to explain a religious person God is a creation of the mind, that won't do

i'm more trying to invite you to say, ok I can try to refute a little bit whats obviously false but give up on the big picture

I'm starting to sample good examples of questions. This could be sampled somewhere in a meta post and liked in the future. If you have some examples of short but well-written questions (on topic, providing what they tried, stating the goal clearly) I'd be really glad you help me on that !

I find hard to get good questions that don't overwhelm you in unecessary details. It's either not enough or too much.

Q: How to respond when someone tells you about their failure

I tend to be relatively successful (I'm a student) compared to my friends, so many times, when my friends tell me about their failures (did poorly on a test, got rejected by a college, etc.), I'm not sure how to reply. I want to let them know that it's really not a big deal and I genuinely still ...

These two have a separate section with 'note'/ 'notes and clarifications'. I know I'm being really picky, but if I could choose, I'd edit post nr.2 so that your note is in the main body of the question (as that's something we'd like other people to do as well). I think in that case, nr. 2 could work.

The first one might be a bit too 'distracting' for a new user with all the clarifications :)

@Ael I'm nitpicky about that one. It's a possible yes, but it's not as great as some of the others.

What shape should take the "Q/A tutorial" ? I'm thinking we could make a meta question "What are examples of good questions and why? " and then we answer it with our contributions.

@ArthurHv I would first make a question of 'if we make such a thing, which question could it include and why': discussion of what to include and such first, and then we can take the best few to a clean, final, example list :)
