ah. How many are "other"? The post you linked had 22% of all as other+comment

@ankii in the past 90 days: 22 questions / 13% closed with custom reason

Thats low.
There's no pressing need to push for it.

Ah @CaldeiraG edit queue..

@ankii Yeah, i reviewed your edit, soon after, got blocked from the review queues because of a missclick XD

@CaldeiraG was it the audit ? Also, you do review a lot! I mean, but the ones on page one were mostly No action needed. But I feel a lot of questions do need edit. People miss tags, things like Sorry for wrong place etc.

9:33 AM
It was the audit. You're not encouraged to do minor edits. Missing tags is something you would add if you know about what they're talking about, some stuff I don't exactly know.

Things like sorry, thanks and chatty comments are only meant to be removed if the question needs a serious improvement (or it breaks readability). As a person with edit tools, I could do that but that's about it

10:15 AM
@Alex Maybe. Do you feel hollow?

@ankii No audits on Eeps.
I think.

That's supersecret :P But there are none ;)

@Tinkeringbell Is it because we haven't had enough stuff going through review yet?

@JourneymanGeek I will reject that claim as without scientific evidence. We don't know that you're an idiot only sometimes.
There's also some implicit bias.
Hmm, it's kinda explicit.

10:19 AM
@Ælis No, audits really need to be turned on manually by a developer, I think. It's not depending on the amount of things a site has reviewed already. I don't think there's any sites besides SO that have review audits, actually.

Anyway, I can't not star an "I'm an idiot" message
@Tinkeringbell IIRC there is a few
AU and Math and those semi-giants

@M.A.R. Oh really? Nice :D

Probably not math, considering the tides of crap there

Well, on IPS all review bans are still done manually.

The fun type.
@CaldeiraG You sure it was just one misclick?
I mean, probably missing out on some learning opportunities if you don't know the exact reviews that caused it

10:39 AM
@Tinkeringbell su does

11:04 AM
There's a list on MSE of which sites have it somewhere.

11:50 AM
@M.A.R. Very sure, the edit was clearly modifying the content of the question but I clicked the wrong button too fast, so a missclick

I found this very nice article about autism, is someone is interested (cc @Rainbacon ): theaspergian.com/2019/05/04/…

12:39 PM
@Ælis That's a great article. I especially liked the sentence that said "But, you see, I can speak, and I can look people in the eyes, so they see my autism as “mild.” My autism affects those around me mildly but my autism does affect me severely."
I saw a post a few months ago that said the same thing and it really struck me because I hadn't considered before that most people judge the "severity" of autism by how it affects them rather than how it affects the autistic person

@Rainbacon Yeah, I feel that this sentence is really true for me too. People just don't know how much being on the spectrum affect me. They mostly feel I'm all right when I'm definitively not. That's why I don't really like to describe myself as "Asperger". People think that, since I'm Asperger, it's not that bad and life is easy for me (because I'm supposedly very smart). But that's really not how I live it.
They mostly see what I choose to show them and I often choose to show them nothing. Because it would be dangerous otherwise. Because it could make me a target of abuse or I could lose my job. Or because I don't want them to pity me or be worried for me. Also because I don't really trust people anymore

@Ælis Yeah, that's a really common misconception that if you are autistic and what they call "high functioning" that you are perfectly equipped for a happy and productive life

I wish they were more (good and diverse) representations of autism in mainstream media. This way, people wouldn't have that much misconception about it and I wouldn't have to hide so much (or at least, I wouldn't feel like I have too)

1:00 PM
That is a nice thought, but it seems like we have a long way to go. The mainstream media isn't exactly great at portraying diversity

@Ælis I wonder how they would do that though... "mainstream" media is probably going to have a hard time making something that raises awareness for the type of autism that isn't all that noticeable to others, but affects a person very much, unless they start making specific stories/series/documentaries around this... would you still call that mainstream?

@Tinkeringbell In "Desperate Housewives" (a really mainstream TV show IMO), one of the main characters (Bree) go through severe depression and, even though the people around here don't notice anything, the audience knows. So I believe doing something similar but with someone struggling because they are on the autism spectrum would be "easy" to do

Yeah, it's mostly about providing a character (which doesn't even have to be the main character of a show) that displays autism in a different way than the stereotypical autistic character

^ that

1:18 PM
About that, my manager now knows I'm autistic! relieved
(and they're okay with it, which is the most important part*)

@avazula Yay, congrats! That must have been a stressful thing to tell them!

@Rainbacon Yeah, I was more wondering about the 'doesn't affect others, but does affect me' which seems like a very intrapersonal thing/struggle that doesn't really work out well on TV?

@Ælis I don't really know, I was only focused on telling them, in case I have a shutdown at work some day. I guess it was important to me because I had one at home yesterday so I'm a little worried I snap in the office

@avazula That's exciting!

@Rainbacon yay! And I'm so glad I got to keep a job in my dream career field.

1:27 PM
@avazula :/ I hope you are better today?

@avazula I feel like if your manager isn't ok with your autism then they are the one who shouldn't get to keep their job

@Ælis I'm good :) just too tired. I'm staying at home this weekend, get the chance to sleep and recover!
@Rainbacon true, but luckily that's not the case for me :) how's your job hunting going btw?

@avazula It's been slow because I'm a bit picky

@avazula Seems like a very sweet plan ^^
@Tinkeringbell One thing about autism is that most people mask it when they are on public (so that people won't think they are "weird") but they tend to not mask as much in private. So showing that won't be a problem

1:43 PM
Yeah, I do a lot of masking when I'm at work, even though most of my coworkers know that I'm on the spectrum

@Rainbacon if you can afford being picky that's great for you, it'll be more likely for you to find a good match :)
@Rainbacon yesterday when I was on the verge of entering my meltdown Mister Ava told me "I love when you're acting childish like that". I'm not doing this on purpose and certainly not to make you laugh D: all of this to say, I can't really let the mask down when at home either

@Rainbacon Meetings are the worst for me. I don't mask as much when I'm facing my computer because I know everyone is working and mostly don't mind me. But meetings? I really feel like I have to "behave"

I had one project where one of my coworkers would give me death stares when I was shaking my leg

@avazula That seems like a bit unkind of him to say

1:51 PM
@Ælis <3
@Rainbacon he's not doing it on purpose... he's just completely clueless about autism

@avazula Glad to hear the meeting went well :D

@avazula That's interesting, I would think that he'd have picked up on a few things after all the time you've been together

@Rainbacon Well, to be fair, I too don't like it when people are shacking their legs in a noisy way. From time to time, I will fell the urge to stim in a noisy way but I try to refrain it and find another way to stim because I know I'm not alone in the office. That being said, it would be wonderful if every autistic person had the opportunity to work in a private office so has to stim how noisily they feel like (and so as to not be bothered by the noise of an open space)

@Ælis It's not exactly noisy when I do it, but it can cause other things to shake (desks, thinkgs on the desks, etc...)

@Tinkeringbell yeah, I'm happy :D

1:57 PM
I had one client that had a false floor (basically a poorly constructed platform that they could run cables under and cover with carpet). I could make half the floor shake and people 30 feet away would think there was an earthquake

xD
@Rainbacon If you were giving your coworker a heart attack every time every time you shack your legs, no wonder they didn't like it x)

2:10 PM
I gave a co worker a heart attack today! :-D
wanders in at the last moment

@TheTinyMan Oh no, what did you do?
(I just filed the papers for a lease car... Fingers crossed!)

@Tinkeringbell dang, I'm jealous of you and Ava over there in your cool-new-car club

@scohe001 I don't have anything yet :P

Lol fair enough. I'll reserve my jealousy for when you get approved then :p

Besides, don't be jealous... I'm probably never going to enjoy it anyways. I really dislike driving, even though it doesn't scare me as much as it used to ;)

2:16 PM
Oof my SO is the same way. When we were long distance, I'd fly out to stay with her and she'd make me drive her around in her car :p

So I accidentally left my CPAP at work yesterday. I sometimes bring it in if I'm considering napping over my lunch break.

So I came in at like 4 AM and slept in the closet...whose door opens right up to the BA on my team. So when it was time to woke up I just slowly creaked the door open on him...

My favorite part about NYC is that I don't have to drive anywhere

@scohe001 Yeah, it's just that a car can save me over two hours of public transport travelling time two days a week, so I kinda want that... and my company is also really pushing me to be 'present' more, which is hard if you have to go to each extracurricular activity by public transport.
@TheTinyMan Why are you napping in the company closet? Are people really okay with that? o.0
@Rainbacon Technically, public transport in The Netherlands is very good, and you can go everywhere with it. But it often means taking 3 trains, a bus, and a walk :P

@Tinkeringbell Sure, why not? ^.^

@TheTinyMan Dunno, would be weird over here :P

2:21 PM
@Tinkeringbell wow yea that sounds like a huge deal. Maybe it'll get easier the more you drive? How are your roads out there?

@scohe001 Busy, and filled with people that can't drive safely.
So while I hope things get a little easier, I don't know if they will.

I'm glad to hear that you're at least less scared of driving now. Is work still giving you trouble regarding working on the bus?

@Tinkeringbell what will you get?

@Tinkeringbell it looks like it's not too bad compared to the rest of the world at least :/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

@avazula I don't know yet... It's going to be expensive, and I don't want an electric one (because charging isn't going to work at home). It's also going to be a bit of a handicapped car, with an automatic transmission. But that's all I know for now :/ If my request is approved (I have to prove I'm making over 10k kilometres a year for business), I get login information and an account, and can start looking :)
@scohe001 Just because people don't die doesn't mean the roads are filled with people that know how to drive ;)
@TheTinyMan Oh, no... we talked about that and I've been spending more time at the office, and less time working on a train/bus and at home. It's cool :)

2:28 PM
Bad drivers are one of the reasons I'm concerned about starting to learn how to drive... and I know from first hand experience that people absolutely do not know how to safely pass a cyclist on the road. Which, when you're the cyclist, is terrifying.

@Tinkeringbell I definitely see why you're getting that car though, because losing that time that you previously spent doing work on the train doesn't sound cool at all! :o Is that when I've seen you playing Stardew Valley recently? :-p

So... it's been buses.

@TheTinyMan Eh, no :P That's on the days I'm working from home/weekends ;)
@Mithrandir As long as that works, it works.

@Tinkeringbell After looking at that map, I'mma double down and say that way more people over there know how to drive than over here. :P

@El'endiaStarman Great, then I should be about done meeting all the ones that can't by now? :P

2:31 PM
@TheTinyMan More importantly, how do you fit in the closet?

@Tinkeringbell haha fair enough. Over here we have some great "defensive driving" courses that focus on how to deal with dangerous situations caused by other drivers. Maybe y'all have something similar over there you could look at if you're really worried about the other people on the road?

@Tinkeringbell Nah, the ones that can't keep doing it.

@scohe001 I think I've been doing that by having a lot (A LOT) of driving classes :P

@Rainbacon obviously, he's tiny

Lol then you're as prepared as you can be :)

2:33 PM
@scohe001 Yep... classes aren't going to make things better at this point, so it's up to me to do the rest.

@Rainbacon It is a large closet! It's like the space under a staircase.

2:48 PM
@TheTinyMan So you're harry potter?

@Rainbacon Apparently! I've even got glasses now!

@CaldeiraG well my edit history on AD goes a bit far in that..
I sometimes do 1 char or 2 char edits to shrink those massive UHD screenshots that people post from their iPhone X's etc..
and to organise search, even if one tag is missing, people do that. Specially if the person missed the bigger tags like macOS etc.

3 hours later…
9:06 PM
@ankii I do that too, but if you don't know what the OP is talking about, don't add, comment instead
@ankii It happens too on SU
Obviously if someone is asking for cmd commands or something and they don't include the windows tag, i would definitely edit it for that (lots of people watch the tag, including me)

Q: Dealing with mom's split personality and her not remembering her behavior afterward?

katelanr9azI'm 26, female, and have moved back in with my parents in March after my relationship with my girlfriend didn't work out; she had to move to Los Angeles for work and the relationship had ended anyway (I also couldn't afford LA lifestyle).
