Q: How to tell friend I want to use their business idea?

OsmosA friend(Mr.X) of mine came to me with a business idea that seemed a good one and offered me to work on it, however he was unable to negotiate with investors and we did not start, one month later another friend(Mr.Y) called me and showed interest in investing money in an idea, now I want to offer...

Q: Communicate to a Group of Friends that I dislike their Unreliability

SuimonI got a small group of friends, consisting of three people (names changed obviously): Leon (he's 20, know him for about 6 years or so), Andi (19, know him for roughly a year) and Chris (18, also know him for roughly a year). I myself am 21. Don't quite know if this information contributes to the ...

Wow nobody said anything since I said something last night, LOL.

It's always pretty quiet in here during weekends ;)

Hiiii @Tinkeringbell. You are very hardworking then, to come here even during the weekends. =)

Heh. My job as a mod does mean I keep an eye on the chatroom and site during weekends ;) I'm now doing so while watching old runs of Domino Day.

4:39 PM
@Tinkeringbell We recorded Prince Charles's comedy and magic thing for his birthday last night. It's good

5:10 PM
@RoryAlsop Heh. Every time there's something good on TV here, I'm not able to watch it. Tonight my parents are dragging me off to a concert, while there's a good concert on TV too!

PVR - it's the way forward :-)
I never watch live TV

Yeah, if I ever watch something it's almost always pre-recorded. I do still watch the news and a daily news talkshow though quite regularly

6:07 PM
i'm around on the weekends too
depends on what i'm doing though.

o/ hi all :)

Q: why would my small group leader not smile or say hi to me first when answering the door for me

isoupsetwhy would my small group leader not smile or say hi to me first when answering the door for me but say hi to everyone else first when they come in? It really makes me feel like she doesn't want me there

i'm supposed to be working on some homework....
me and hubby made a chore list thing so that we can earn points for different types of chores, and i'm trying to think of what we can do for each other- like little favors- any ideas? what do you like for your SO to do for you?
i'm making a google document to establish the rules and such plus list the favors we can do for each other

6:35 PM
shoulder massage is always nice imo :)

what I have so far- watching movie/show (with one or the other choosing the top three options), taking a chore that is small or large, him giving me a 5 minute massage (he doesnt like massage as much as I do)... i'm not having an easy time coming up with ideas
@emc yup got that covered
Ooh, small favor for me is make tea for me.

hmm... is there something like, a special food that the other can make? like my SO loves a certain type of cookies I make, but I don't do them super often because it's a bit of a process

He knows how to cook eggs. That's about it. He eats peanut butter crackers. Food isn't huge for both of us, but if he learned how to cook something simple he can do that. I put it on the list, me help him learn how to cook any agreed on food, and then have him cook it
Two different things

haha, I see. I'm having a tough time thinking of ideas too

Hmm
We're quite an odd couple hehe

6:49 PM
I feel like my SO and I already do most of the things I can think of, so it doesn't really work for incentive xD

I don't need to do anything, because I never had any SO. =)

Right, haha. I know me and hubby don't have a ton of motivation so we do need incentives lol
@WillHunting you do need to take care of yourself, still

@ElizB Do you mean one of you likes watching movies but the other doesn't?
I can imagine that would be a problem. The one who doesn't like to watch movies will have to sit there for two hours and try to not get bored. =)

@WillHunting haha actually yeah. I'm much more of a movie person, he's more of a gamer
it's all about the mental stimulation

Aha! I love movies. I think I have watched 1000 movies. I never play any computer games.

6:55 PM
if it's a good story and the animation or acting is done really well, it's great for him but boring movies do make him unhappy

Sometimes, I binge watch series, like Halloween 1--10 for example. That would take 20 hours.

i watched a Japanese animated movie last night called "Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro"
it was a rousing adventure from the get go it was great to watch!

user15026
I am trying to think of things @ElizB but for me it's hard because I can't think of a lot because me and my husband aren't living together so it's different lol

I'm not into horror movies, haha

@ElizB I never bothered to check, but is animation just a super fancy term for cartoon?

6:57 PM
@Ash yeah, i get that. what would he do for you that you sometimes don't do?

@Ash Not living together must be really hard.

@WillHunting i guess.. i don't know for sure. I'm sure people will argue that there are differences between the words but I'm not sure

@WillHunting there's a stack exchange post for that :D anime.stackexchange.com/questions/69/…

@WillHunting My mom and stepdad are doing the same thing- my mom lives and works in one town, while my stepdad lives and works in another town 3 hours away by car so they go back and forth often

@ElizB There is one cartoon/animation I like to watch every Christmas. It's The Polar Express and it's very inspiring and it's about Christmas.

6:59 PM
it helps that my stepdad lives in the same town as my mom's parents, so she has more reason to visit for holidays
@WillHunting mmm, yes. I like the Polar Express, the music and the quality is amazing

user15026
@WillHunting Sometimes, but we're used to it, we've never lived together because we live in different countries right now

@Ash Yeah I remember we talked about it and how you met him on this site. =)

@Ash yeah, that's quite different than my mom and stepdad, they live 3 hours apart

user15026
@WillHunting Oh yeah, I forgot we did talk about that :)

user15026
@ElizB I am just glad we live in the same timezone :)

user15026
7:01 PM
Today is actually my last day of work before I go on holidays and I get to go see him for a week :D

@Ash Rather, you having the same sleeping hours is more important, because some people sleep in the day. =)

@Ash yay!!

@Ash hooray!!

user15026
@WillHunting This is true :)

user15026
(Not going to lie I am like...counting down the minutes. 2 hours and 55 min til my shift is done!)

user15026
7:05 PM
(It doesn't feel real yet, it usually doesn't til I get to the airport)

i love and hate that feeling of anticipation

user15026
It's the best and the worst all at the same time!

so, i went to a paint and sip, and I won a raffle- this necklace and earring set... but the funniest thing is that my mom donated it!! I won it, out of many other women who put their tickets in the bag lol
a paint and sip is known as basically a guided class where people paint a small canvas and sip wine, and is primarily a women's thing- in this case, it was a fundraiser for the school

user15026
@ElizB That's funny that you won. that's very pretty!

user15026
@ElizB That sounds really fun.

7:18 PM
@Ash i thought it was hilarious, and my mom was simply gobsmacked (can't find a better word)
she said something like "i didnt know you wanted that, i might as well just wrapped that up and gave it to you
@Ash yeah. Some women last year got a little too liberal with the alcohol and got drunk....
yikes, in order to feel good i need to actually get going on my homework then go to mom's for dinner and spend more time with my baby niece :) TTYL :) Thanks for the help!

user15026
Have fun :)

Q: The girl I love married today. How to deal with the fact that I should forget everything about it

am909090I love a girl since few years. I didn't have the power to tell her my feelings. It is like I got stuck or my brain become frozen when I see her. I send a common friend to tell her my feelings, but he saw her mother and told her everything. She responded that she don't want someone like me for he...

@ExtrovertedMainMan That sounds very sad.

Q: How to ask someone to stop addressing me with a certain form of endearment

The HagenI have a friend whose family I also know. Her mother likes me, and addresses me as her "(my ethnicity) daughter", or herself as my "(her ethnicity) mother" as a form of endearment. I live in a Western, English-speaking country where I am an ethnic minority, and she is part of the ethnic majority....

Q: How to tell my boss / coworkers I am out of their league

anonymousAs lots of freshers, I started my career not knowing my real worth, with zero confidence, minimal salary expectations and gladly accepted whatever first job offer I received without thinking twice. It is a relatively small business and we all know each other in person pretty closely, no bureaucr...

that got nuked pretty fast

@ElizB ... huh, yeah 0.o

(shrugs) huh. oh well...

oh, it looks like the user doesn't exist anymore? I'm guessing that's why, IIRC if a user is deleted their negative scored posts get deleted too

ahh, gotcha. Maybe they created the account then deleted it after they got first downvote
maybe a form of rage-quitting?

8:57 PM
possibly :(

:/
since we don't know whether that user quit after the downvote or before, i'm not gonna assume

I didn't even see it until it was already deleted, kinda sucks because I know exactly what workplace.se post to send them to :/

hmm, bummer

this one, in case OP finds chat ;)

yipes, my sister is locked out and she's wanting me to get there now.... see ya :P
locked out of my mom's that is
