I love my family.... i think. I had one aunt left on my father's side who distinctly didn't approve of me, but who did have a soft spot for one of my sisters, so I encouraged said sister to go and talk about Family History (said sister is into it as well, but is concerntrating on her husband's side because I'm doing ours).

She finally got around to making contact with our aunt in 2013 -- or rather, failing; said Aunt had died (cantankerous to the last) 2 weeks earlier. But our cousin was happy to share anything she found while clearing the house...

And so 6 years later, my sister finally gets round to visiting (with other two surviving sisters) and provides copies of everything cousin provided 6 years ago.

Which includes a bunch of certificates I had tracked down and paid for in the meantime, plus (more importantly) a bunch of handwritten notes about things I would never have found (stillbirths; names and dates for descendants of great-aunts and uncles; handwritten notes for home visits of British Home Children sent to Canada in 1912 (gold-dust, those).

And the rumour of a murderer in the family sometime in the 40s or 50s in the States!
