Oh this remind me the people that pay for some flattering sponsored content on one of our main portals and then quote it as if it was independent journalism that was flattering to them
It is not enough for the content to be true, the form also should not be misleading
which is exactly why there is trademark law, and design patents

Evening! Does anyone know how to remove the block-library directory with the CSS file in wp-includes?

what do you mean @Mᴏɴᴋᴇʏ?
... and it is morning :)

Under sources I see the Gutenburg CSS file from wp-includes. Per research it says on github to remove it I have to install the old editor, is there no other way?
ha, its 2130 here, lol

are you talking about the dist directory?

yes
wp-includes/css/dist/block-library
think I might make it a question

3:28 AM
everything in dist is generated during the build of core and is distributed with it, therefor it is unwise to make any changes there just like it in unwise to modify the php files
and yes, this can be a good question on main site

@MarkKaplun I threw a post together: wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/323244/…
@JackJohansson long time amigo

@Mᴏɴᴋᴇʏ Hey mate, long time indeed! How you been doing? Woke up and saw the block editor?

trying to knock out a WP site update theme using 5.0.1 before year ends.
thought Id do a code overall on my blog because my gists are getting crazy out of hand and I'm trying to clean up my repos

4:00 AM
Is there any specific reason you'd like to remove the Gutenberg's CSS? or is it just cause you don't like extra stuff?

I've got my sites setup where at glance you cant even tell it's WordPress

That's how I like it! I had the classic editor pre-installed and the styles/scripts dequeued even before the GB was released

I'm thinking of stepping back into the old editor. I still haven't learned how to use code tags such as code and pre in the new editor.

If you already have content on your website, GB will not detect them properly, but rather detects the entire article as a single block

I'm rolling the new theme and 5 on a sub domain, re-writing several of the posts then will push to my main. I wrote a gist plugin for code in WP that I'm doing away with

4:07 AM
It's just my personal opinion, which I think it's not time yet to move to GB. Still, IMHO.

well I'm out, been coding for 17 hours, got a haze so gonna nap for 5 and get back at it.

You can do it I believe in you :D

I get to do my first woocomerce site and I'm somewhat nervous, lol

It's gonna be annoying, I can promise you that

Changes to known-bad review audits - any validated "rude or abusive" flags on a post will make that post ineligible for use as a "known-bad" audit in either the Triage or the Low Quality review queues. Also checks to ensure that only posts which were actually deleted by the system in response to spam flags are used for this purpose.

@Mᴏɴᴋᴇʏ don't know why it would tell you to do that? Link?
@Mᴏɴᴋᴇʏ code blocks are a block type in the new editor

2:04 PM
@TomJNowell it was a comment on an issue on github

I don't see the need to eliminate that CSS, keep in mind that removing the editor doesn't remove any content that might have been added

I thought that might be the case
figured it might make a decent question

2:23 PM
Given the login to a WP site, can I find out which role the user has? Cannot solely rely on the navbar items, as entries may be hidden for this role by some custom code/plugin
ah, just manually going to /wp-admin/users.php helps alot

Q: Improving a question closed as duplicate

That Brazilian GuyI have a question which was closed as a duplicate. As I see it, the accepted duplicated asks the how, whereas my question is about the why. I've tried to improve the question a bit. Is it still a duplicate?

@kero what's the problem that solves? Not sure why the navbar would be related

@TomJNowell From the items available you can pretty much guess the role of the current user. In this scenario I had only the login, I didn't see options/themes/plugins in the navbar and assumed the user wasn't an administrator. However, the user was and those entries were simply hidden/removed. Accessing the URL directly worked, as there was nothing further considering rights but it was only removed from the navbar so your everyday user wouldn't accidentally click on it

are you trying to do this in JS?
