At first I thought it was a joke, but now looking more closely at the Git how-to, they provide a drop down to toggle between English and Russian, but SVN only in Russian.

to be fair I suspect the people involved didnt recognise exactly who it was talking to them, and that disclosure might jsut be a blog post on a little known wordpress.com blog

I'd considered him one of the better developers in core for these things, as much as that counts
