Why is the SVN how to in Russian?

At first I thought it was a joke, but now looking more closely at the Git how-to, they provide a drop down to toggle between English and Russian, but SVN only in Russian.

@userabuser looks just the same as Git Immersion, except using a HTML file as an example instead of a Ruby file

@bungeshea seen that before... pretty much hits the nail on the head.

I love the printer one as well…

@bungeshea You might like this too: clientsfromhell.net/clientstories

Q: Does this SE have an approval of using "WordPress" in the title and url from WordPress.org?

DerfderFrom the http://wordpress.org/about/domains/ For various reasons related to our WordPress trademark, we ask if you’re going to start a site about WordPress or related to it that you not use “WordPress” in the domain name. Try using “wp” instead, or another variation. We’re not lawyers, ...

9:53 AM
Someone's out to cause trouble...
@StephenHarris I will write them in a minute and let you know what they think about that. Thanks for now. — Derfder 3 mins ago

@StephenHarris Maybe you will get detention.

@userabuser "Right that's it! No trac tickets for you for a month!" :)

make it two!

maybe if Matt is in a bad mood he will make a scene and we will finally change name to something with less suck

"WorpDress Answers"

10:02 AM
As it has be said before, "Toscho's Answers"
@StephenHarris wp.org own all the worpdress domains I believe.

@userabuser really... worpdress.org ?

@StephenHarris don't let that fool you... whois.domaintools.com/worpdress.org

@userabuser ah... wrong assumption

I tried to register them a while back ;)

11:22 AM
robotic desks!

11:46 AM
robotic eskimos!

no we didnt get any of those installed

12:06 PM
@TomJNowell don't you fear your robotic desks will rise up against you and revolt?

@userabuser Using a small control panel I can test that. They only rise up to shoulder height so a full scale revolt is unlikely
At the touch of a button they fall back and before I know it they're at my knees

so worse case scenario they will be at crotch height?

one day, when I will be very very rich, I will freaking buy herman miller chair and desk... one can dream, right? :)

@Rarst one day when I will be very very rich I will buy us both one.

that also works

12:09 PM
sharing is caring... its only money.

it's easier to recognize that happines is not all about the money, when you have a lot of them
my wheel reinvention content renderer comes out to <100 lines of custom code. I am struggling to take such meager program seriously :)

Oneday when I'm rich Rarst will be liberated from the shackles of biology and sent to the space station to live with Toscho

I fancy a trip into space too so if there's room....

no
only virtual entities may apply

on second thought a trip to the space station where toscho resides would be a lot like 2001: A Space Oddessy but instead of H.A.L you have T.O.S.H

1:12 PM
I'm sorry @userabuser, but I cannot do that.

do what?

Slow on the uptake tonight.
Sorry P.A.L
+1 for wit though :)

This is important, not because of the specific vulnerability, but the underlying security practices #WordPress uses http://blog.ircmaxell.com/2013/07/disclosure-wordpress-wpdb-sql-injection.html
see the comments and twitter thread facepalm

Nacin's passive agressive show is really not helping their case

@Rarst Beat me to it :)

3:58 PM
I love WordPress. Generally great to code with and then you get all the drama thrown in too. Exciting!

4:20 PM
@nacin You aren't the sum total of the WP community. You not caring about something still reflects poorly on the rest of us. /cc @rmccue

to be fair I suspect the people involved didnt recognise exactly who it was talking to them, and that disclosure might jsut be a blog post on a little known wordpress.com blog
I wasn't aware of who he was until a few months ago myself

It shouldn’t matter who reports bug.

@TomJNowell ehm, who he is? :)

@toscho indeed it shouldn't, but this is WP Core we're talking about

I know :/

4:30 PM
do we even have a security team at Automattic?

yes, Nacin

that's his official role?

no, really, I don’t know

I'd considered him one of the better developers in core for these things, as much as that counts
Denied: "At this time, we will not be accepting this plugin. It's just not appropriate for the repository, though it's a great example of how to do evil code. it's just not a 'useful' plugin for people to use day to day on their sites, so it shouldn't be hosted here."

MJ does a lot of security related stuff
but he's probably busy with 3.6

pjax is cool stuff! when not in WordPress... :)
