New month, new photo competition.
Last month has a clear winner.
@Xnero, can you accept either that answer or a virtual prize photo.

@Willeke I accepted the winners photo. Who gets the virtual prize?

8:58 AM
Is there one photo that stands out for you for whatever reason? Can be any reason. Or a post, it can be about the text as well.
@Xnero, if non stands out for you, you can ask for candidates here or just let it go without a virtual prize.

@Willeke This one:

A: April 2021 Photo Competition - Trees

Mark MayoObligatory 'That Wanaka Tree', taken in Wanaka, NZ, on Nov 2 at 2019. It is famous enough to have its own instagram page ;)

user435118
Is that ok?

Any that stands out to you. That is the perk of running the competition.

user435118
@Willeke Done - I edited the post.

9:08 AM
Great.
I usually left a comment on the post with the photo as well.

user435118
@Willeke Also done.

I was too fast in checking. :-)

user435118
@Willeke I only did it after you suggested it. :-)

Good news in the UK about covid, looks like the country is about ready to open up.
Here we are not that far yet, too many cases by far.

user435118
@Willeke Yes, seems like it is going very well here.

9:12 AM
And not enough people who got their inoculations yet.

user435118
@Willeke That's a shame.

I have been told to expect my invitation for it in a few days, so should get my first shot in a few weeks tops.

user435118
My parents have got their invitations but where we are supplies are low so they can't book it. They can book a first dose but you have to book the second dose with the first dose and there are no second dose appointments available except for 10+ miles away.

user435118
@Willeke So what are the restrictions where you are?

The restrictions are put a level down last Wednessday, so now we can shop (with a maximum number of people, so queueing out of the shops, and outside seating in restaurants and pubs from noon to 6 PM.
But still no swimming, very limited sporting for teams, still being asked to stay home much, very limited access to museums and cinemas and a lot more things like that.

@Willeke Sounds similar to what we have here apart from there is no time limit on pubs, sport is allowed and we are not asked to stay home. But museums and cinemas are completely closed.

I was reading about a trial event in Liverpool yesterday where around 6,000 people went to a nightclub (legally) for a pilot event with no social distancing or masks, all they had to do is get a negative test. Hopefully that will be the way forward towards unlocking.

We have a testing situation on museums and amusement parks and the like, one day they are allowed a fair number of people, if all tested, and then the next days or weeks they are not allowed any visitors.
The prof football competition had public last weekend, this weekend they do not have any. And especially the Ajax fans are not happy, as their team can read Champion this week. (But they can lose and not get the championship at all, of course.)

user435118
I don't really follow sport but I think we also had around 4,000 spectators at Wembley stadium one or two weeks ago.

I think our countries are doing the same things at about the same times, but your covid numbers were way worse around/after Christmas, our wave was later and is lasting way longer.
Or maybe started later so that is now seems to last longer.
UK and NL were at 5000 cases per day at the same time a few weeks ago. Your numbers have gone down since, our has gone up to 10000 cases per day for a short while, is now slowly going down.

@Willeke The first part of January this year was deadly here.

9:38 AM
No extra sport options till 18 May at least, they have postponed it by a week at least, just got published.
And while I really want to swim, I do prefer it to be safe and with fewer restrictions when in the pool building.

user435118
I also want to swim but the pool where I usually go has been closed for over a year for refurbishments.

Good timing by them. Here I have been able to swim a couple of months late last year, but under restrictions. Not making any profits last year and likely non this year.
Ian told me that his local pool has a compulsory membership system now, only members can book swimming time and even that has not been open since before Christmas.

user435118
I have started playing tennis, I purchased a pass to play for a whole year.

user435118
Otherwise you have to pay per booking and the pass makes much more sense even if you only use it a few times.

Tennis is a sensible sport now, active, with other people, but not close together.
I hope you like the sport.

user435118
9:47 AM
Yes, I used to have tennis lessons a couple of years ago. Haven't played it in a long time but I love it.

Great.
I never played, not even in school.
We did get a taste of many sports but not all.

user435118
It's really fun and active. The only downside is you need another person to play with.

I often hear people at work who joined a competition, so they are sure to have that other person every week.

user435118
I have a few friends who I can play with.

user435118
I'm supposed to play this afternoon actually.

10:16 AM
Sounds like a good plan I hope you do get rain.

user435118
10:27 AM
@Willeke I don’t want rain. :-)

10:57 AM
Oops, a not fell away. I am having problems with a script running in circles.
So I better reboot (and do something else while doing that.)

user435118
@Willeke Haha.

user435118
I hope you have a good day!
