I can answer the options to hug koalas. In the wild, it is a no go.

In sanctuaries they sometimes have some koalas who have brain damage and as such do not have the usual 'escape or hurt' reaction when people touch them.

Those koalas still do not like hugs but you can stroke them.

Their fur feels funny if you are used to dogs, cats, sheep and so on, very wiry, much like a brush to do hard work with.

I did my koala stroking in a sanctuary, never even saw them in the wild.

I tried to get to #20 all time this year but I'm short a little. I will get there in 2017 :D My new year resolution is to get to 25000 actually. And to be able to meet the Army Basic Fitness Test levels although not at once.
