@MarkMayo Just in Kazakhstan? I wonder if they're just being deliberately obtuse in order to try to get bribes. (I've never been there.)
01:00
@MarkMayo how many countries that speak a Polynesian language have you been to?
01:37
@GregHewgill I had passport issues in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Kyrgyzstan was refreshingly easy.
I avoided any bribes, fortunately, just kept pressing my case.
@AndrewGrimm I've not been to too many islands. My country list is on my profile
copied and pasted for ease here: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Ciskei, Croatia, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia

@MarkMayo Burned out, exhausted, disappointed. I hitched all the way to the DR and couldn't get anything to Turks and Cacos :( Just 100 miles short and had to turn around. I will check into the question you linked to when I recover tomorrow.

@MarkMayo Liechtenstein is missing!
@RoflcoptrException Welcome back. Sorry to pounce on you so immediately but might you have a look (when you get a chance) at meta.travel.stackexchange.com/a/3915/4995 (nothing much has happened there for months)?
thanks
I guess I have time today or tomorrow
Much appreciated - and no great rush - should help with the last push for now to assign something by way of a Usage guide to every tag currently applied.
10:37
@RoflcoptrException I know, I know :) Next Europe trip!
Hopefully 2018, maybe earlier.

@MarkMayo You are (joint) top Answerer for the [phone-networks] tag - might you express a view regarding meta.travel.stackexchange.com/questions/4059/…?
11:31
@pnuts yes, you're right
@MarkMayo Let me know!
12:27
@pnuts I'm not sure actually, I answer questions but am unsure about those tags myself, too. I too suspect like you that networks might be service availability, speeds, network interoperability and so on, while operators has to be Vodafone, Verizon etc.
Oh well. Thanks for looking into it!

Q: DS 160 Marital Status

Alan NI have a question regarding the marital status on DS-160 form. I and my partner were married in the United States 2 years ago, while both working on J-1 visa as non US citizens. We don't live together and we are both from countries which don't recognize same sex marriages. So I was wondering what...

hah
there's a photo going around of somebody from a UK government agency (possibly a council) complaining about a "hellenic republic" passport
and how there is know country of Hellania
ah yes, Manchester council
“I thought the Manchester council request was so funny. People have said it is classic Brexit Britain, but it has nothing to do with that. It is just an idiot."
17:32
@pnuts, why did you edit that repeated question about entering France on the last two days of visa validity? I liked the fact that the copy stood out as a poor language use.
Why edit one and not the other?
Edit one and delete (or close vote and later delete) the other.
Qs never get enough -1s to be deleted from TSE (at least not yet).
I can't VTC (as a dupe) because neither is yet answered.
18:05
I would not be surprised if those two question turn out to be duplicates of something already on the site.
18:17
1,671 tagged [schengen] - wouldn't surprise me either.
18:32
I think a mod has deleted that duplicate Q, I do not see it anymore and I do not have the downvote mentioned in my 'reputation' list.
If it is the one I thought you meant it is still there: travel.stackexchange.com/questions/84332/…
Strange, it does not show in the list for me, nor does the downvote show.
Well, I have refreshed - you might want to try searching fro it by number (84332) or via your Comment.
18:47
It does not really matter, if it hides the copy it will not get answers by accident.

Q: OK, we are all adults here, so how do the doors and controls work on an airplane toilet?

shirishI had connecting flights on two Boeing Aircraft - Point A - B - A Boeing 777-300 ER Point B - C - A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner The first one was a short haul flight While the second one was a longish (7 hr.) flight. As I'm not much of a flier, I couldn't figure out how to open the toilets, clos...

Good edit, I was tempted but resisted.
OP might not know our tradition/may not like being that outspoken.
