Ding ding ding! Ahoy all mates!
Huge decision handed down from the Upper Tribunal yesterday...
Case: Nigeria 2016 UKUT 00451 (IAC)

listening
Big.
OH, Woman arrived here in 1987 and went all the way to acquire citizenship
and they found out she lied when she first got her visitor entry clearance
And they deprived her citizenship
And then WHOA, the UT upheld it!!!
So now she is an overstayer!!!!
The legal community is stunned,
Google on the case number :)

Wow
what a shitty life
did you read it?
my understanding was that she didnt lie, she was smuggling drugs
whether she knew or she didnt, who knows after this much time

hey!
has anybody a recommendation for where to go after Christmas for around 10 days? Not too far away from Europe and nice wheather :)
Not sure what "not too far" means but maybe Morocco?
too far means not more than 4 hours of flying
yeah, I also thought about marocco
of course, I'm the genius who went to Prague the first week of January this year, so I don't always think through the weather implications...
well, if it's a nice winter week, it's also cool
but I would hate if it's just raining
yeah and Prague was beautiful in the snow, just cold
07:41
i believe you

@GayotFow we need your expertise here: travel.stackexchange.com/questions/61387/…
@GayotFow reading the Appellant's history was extremely depressive... this is why we need harsher deportation laws

@JonathanReez one more thing: I would consider reverting the title edit here travel.stackexchange.com/q/77715/32134 I find it does not represent the question anymore, the previous title seemed more fitting to me.
And I'm supporting the close vote here: travel.stackexchange.com/q/76271/32134
11:13
@mts the previous title is vague
would you be able to tell what OP needs from just reading it?
I'm open to revising, but not to reverting

@JonathanReez it is about one specific restaurant not an area, so asking "where in [restaurant name] can I dine with my 12yo son" does not make any sense to me.
I agree that the previous title was vague but the current is worse.
Maybe sth like "how to get a kid into [restaurant]?" ?
oops...
I've thought it's a neighborhood in Tokyo
fixed. looks OK now?

Great, thanks! I'd give you a +1 for the edit if I could.
Also Joe put in an answer :)

There is something Trumpian about this Maurice guy.
15:38
@JonathanReez edited, +1, that's a great answer.
published this morning, so these people with refusals need to be careful
@Relaxed what happened?
16:01
@Relaxed building walls? grabbing women by the crotch?

they took a -1 personally on an answer that was borderline between wrong, useless and vague. made it to -4 and plenty comments before self-deleting. well done so, otherwise I'd have flagged some of his stuff as offensive.
here for those that can see deleted posts: travel.stackexchange.com/q/81084/32134
17:11
looks like a case of "if you don't know the answer, don't try to answer anyway, and then don't get into an argument when someone points that out"
2
but hey, he did self-delete
17:22
@JonathanReez @GayotFow Nothing important, just doubling down on your mistakes and pure braggadocio
17:53
I read that Nigerian case. Very interesting if somewhat depressing
I imagine a lot of immigration/asylum cases are

@Relaxed Well goodness, if you show me those mistakes I will do my very best to correct them.
@GayotFow, you missed a very nice meeting, with 8 nationalities (9 if we count the guy from Wales who has lived in England much longer than every in Wales).

@RoflcoptrException i always used Eilat when I needed a little warm up in the winter.

@Willeke A fascinating culture I never knew about. I am working this one with a Chinese Luck knot. Tricky!
Lampwork by a sweetheart in Slovenia
Try it one time. And send pics of the knotters also :)
@chx Israel, interesting
I have asked, the name 'good luck' knot is introduced by Lydia Chen, the old name was Friendship knot, which is how my chinese friend knows it, told by her grandfather 67 years ago. (it is on this page, with the 'wrong' name.) trinitylondon.com/chinese-knots.asp
never thought about that
I did not take any photos.
15 to 20 °C in january

@GayotFow, likely not this meeting but it was very much like you see on these photos: knotengilde.knoten.org/index.php/component/phocagallery/…

@RoflcoptrException my (very long term) plan is to buy a little apartment in either Wellington or Eilat and winter out there.
@chx, why Wellington? So much more of NZ, with likely better weather and better views as well.

Maybe Auckland or Christchurch. Need to explore that more.
For pleasant weather I would go to the north of the North Island, Christchurch is not that warm. But it is on the dry side of the country.
The rail pass over the mountains from CC has a station that is in rain or mist 360 days in the year, they claimed.

You can live there for free if you work for about 30 minutes each day, (one train per day or so) and they can not get people to live there.
@GayotFow, found some photos of this years (last weekends) meeting: cn-online.de/stadt-land/news/…
Video (in first photo) is fun, was on TV while we were there, I guess, but while they did take footage of my, I am not in. (Boyfriend is.)
20:40
but you're talking about eilat in israel and not eilat in new zealand?
21:19
@Willeke v nice!
And definitely the good luck knot

@RoflcoptrException i didnt even know there's an eilat in NZ
@RoflcoptrException I like Eilat, IL but NZ is warmer that time of the year being summer and all that
21:58
NZ is a bit farther than 4 hours
22:21
@GayotFow I was talking about Maurice and his now-deleted answer, I don't think you need to correct any mistake...
Sometimes, I wonder where you get all this.

1 hour later…
23:46
@Relaxed Where I get all what? I don't follow.
