@Fiksdal Yes, you guys were talking about voracious down voters and then linked to Eric's profile.
He is ok in person, but his net persona can appear very pedantic and autocratic. He down voted me and scolded me because I had a question about Unity's policy injection. Of course some ordinary mortal like me should know better than to ask about that.
@chx and others, would you PLEASE upvote a question when you take the time and effort to answer it!

the hotel pool answer is embarrassingly now one of my top upvoted answers. HNQ is so weird sometimes

1:02 AM
@ZachLipton that's just how stack is
there are really awesome, long answers you work a lot on which only gets a few upvotes, then there is the answer you sticked together in 2 minutes that becomes your top answer

@arda Yeah, very true. In this case (and indeed, most cases), it's largely due to the HNQ. meta.stackexchange.com/q/238420/321647

ikno
Also uploading the album of today
Will try to get to higher points tomorrow to get better pictures. So much for sea pictures...

the funny thing is that my answer is basically just what the OP should have done in the first place before asking: google "hotel pool close night" and summarize the reasons

@ZachLipton Actually, simple answers are more likely to get upvoted through the HNQ. Because it means everyone will understand them, and can regonize that they are correct.
@ZachLipton Same with me, my third most upvoted answer is extremely basic. Just two sentences. Also, almost purely due to the HNQ.

I don't answer on Travel.SE, but my network-wide top is due to HNQ and is a simple id request answer
Here is the (rather small) album - I couldn't walk around too much as it is burning here (gets to around 40c or 104f when you count humidity too), but will try to get better stuff tomorrow :)

@arda I think almost everyone's top Qs/As are due to the HNQ.
Beautiful photos :)
Anyway, gotta sign off. See you guys later.

looks lovely

What is HNQ?

@GayotFow Ah, yes, Lippert, lol. All downvotes, no upvotes, LOL.

@ZachLipton TAR

@GayotFow gzip?

@Fiksdal He's ok personally, I followed his posts here and his blog with passion resembling a fanatic.
@ZachLipton TAR = British for 'Thanks and Regards'
It's also in the spoken language in the City

ah...

@GayotFow I'm sure he is.. I've never interacted with him myself, so I wouldn't really know... But I do find it pretty hilarious that he's downvoted 2,203 posts and only upvoted a single one.... Haha. I would like to know which one it is :)

@Fiksdal probably his buddy

I added some commas
but it looks great

ping @JoErNanO et al, please review.
@ZachLipton thanks for the edit
I retagged about 7 questions, but there's lots more

@Willeke yeah I was thinking about that today. I figured if I had enough videos, I could convert them into like a Q&A podcast, but video would make more sense, as scary as that is
Now to find this magical 'free time' to do it in

is there a reason we can't delete this? travel.stackexchange.com/a/78694/13650
it's advocating people to knock over shelving

1m people reached! Oooooh yeah!

sweet

@ZachLipton If the answer is wrong it should be downvoted into oblivion rather than deleted. At least that's what @MarkMayo suggests.
Where are all these people? I've been alone all this time!

I think it goes beyond wrong. It doesn't actually answer the question and advocates breaking the law

Ok flag it as such then.

@chx if you don't think it's a good question then why are you answering it?

chx
/me shrugs
Because even shitty questions might bring down our answer rate (if it doesn't get closed)
We do not have a "this is a stupid question, STFW n00b" close reason.
Which obviously needs to be worded much , much more kindly
but still: we need a close reason of "trivially googleable"

@ZachLipton LMAO at that answer. -1
The funny thing is, the guy has 9k rep on SO.

7:16 PM
@chx That's too bad. I was going to ask "I want to travel to the capital of Finland. What is the capital?" Will my question be closed under that new reason? I need to hurry up and ask before it's too late.

@GayotFow If you could let me know whether I got anything wrong in these comments, I would appreciate it, thanks: expatriates.stackexchange.com/questions/9203/…

@phoog All fine, but you should urge them to get the FP IN ITALY because at least that will be grandfathered with seniority when Article 50 is put forward.
