@terdon :O maybe (I did not used that 2 site s yet) but one user commented me on area51 that the Biostar site indeed was born in SE!!! later they got separated!!!!
@terdon: Biostars was a stackexchange site until 2011 and migrated both the content and the users thereafter. If you really want all the details, you can go through the posts in 2010/2011 here: groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/biostar-central
@DevonRyan I know it was using the software but was it really part of the network, sharing notifications, rep etc? I was around in 2011 but I don't remember that at all.
@DevonRyan Yeah, looking through the messages, they were never part of SE, they just used the SE engine.
There was a proposal from SE site to migrate biostar to SE. https://www.biostars.org/p/13877/#13901 Most of the people were positive, but that never happened. I still wonder why. Does anyone know why?
@kenorb counter productive At best, there's nothing to train a model right now, plural of anectode is not proof
@HenryWHHackv2.0 Absolutely nothing as I didn't saw it :) I hang here to bring 'blind advice' to avoid pitfalls we had on devops if I can, not participating in the site itself helps keeping distance, but at the end of the day I can only highlight what I think is counterproductive patterns only, You (site users) are what will make the site
And my field of feedback is restricted to this chat room ( which is perfectly fine IMHO)
