Q: Manga where the MC was kicked out of the hero party for being a tank

BlackbarkI am looking for a manga where the MC was kicked out for being a tank. The leader wanted an all offensive party. The MC is a town guard and leader of a trouble squad. I think there is a assassin in the squad that constantly attacks the MC and there is a female sword user in part with another memb...

Q: Why dose this French graphic novel not have a printing number?

MorganWhy does this French Tintin book ("Tintin et les Picaros") not have a printing number?

Yes, LEGO! I don't use it anymore and my kids have never been interested in LEGO. So I'm rehoming my collection. It's not huge, but I have a fair amount. I want to see if Major Stackings shows up first, though. He's my favorite LEGO conniseur. (sp?)

Alright, well, if he doesn't show up I may be interested, depending on how far it needs to ship (I'm in Canada); my daughter enjoys lego and I still build it from time to time myself

@MajorStackings - I'm looking for you! :)

Q: '90s children's literary horror anthology book, including a story about a cruel cousin who later turns out to be an android

Jason Nicholas ManleyWhen I turned 10 years old back in 1992, my mother sent me a care package crammed with snacks, mad magazines, a journal, a new video game, and a book of horror stories, that had creepy illustrations for some of the stories. The stories I remember most involve a boy with amnesia, whose cousin is a...

Q: Movie about a cursed place where people die in bizarre accidents

user73910To my recollection, this movie seemed to follow the archetypal "Cabin in the Woods" format, so I would guess that it is American. Basically, a group of characters go vacationing to some place. Along the way they are warned by a sheriff that the place is cursed, and they will all die. The characte...

The Boy Who LivedI was reading the question 'When leaving Privet Drive, why did there need to be seven Potters instead of using the Invisibility Cloak or Disillusionment Charms?' @AncientSwordRage I am of the opinion that character tags are entirely useless.

Q: Fantasy book about a reincarnated girl who could see auras

SQB
@Mithical yes please.
@Mithical if you put it to meta, title the question something like "romantic disinterest", please?
@AncientSwordRage are you sure you did? We have no questions with that tag.
While we're at it, can we deincarnate please?
Or is it disincarnate?

Decarnate?

@SQB ah sorry , I should synonymize them
@SQB Yes, it should be done via meta. I don't have an issue with the tag... it existing means you can ignore it if you just don't like the contents.

3:00 PM
Mmm. It serves no practical purpose and has been used under 20 times in 8 years.

@SQB it's a fantasy trope (and I say that separate from the religious meaning)
@Mithical ... it tags questions about romantic interest, has two followers, and lets you search/ignore it
I don't think being underused is grounds for removal; we don't have a quota and I don't think it's doing any harm?
Looking at the questions... it's not being used well, so maybe there is some harm there
for instance, scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/216961/… isn't really about the stories s as such
so, I think the tag CAN exist on the site, but not in it's current state

I'd call it "romance" instead of "romantic-interest", but otherwise it seems okay.
In other news, we've asked SE for a trial period with accepted answers unpinned. See the update to the meta discussion for full details:

Q: How do hovercrafts work in "The Hunger Games"?

Eaglepup12I have always wondered how the hovercrafts in The Hunger Games are propelled through the air, and how they work. Does anybody know the answer to this question?

5:41 PM
FWIW, this is an excellent (accepted) answer that badly lags the highest-voted answer.

@DavidW It's a self-accept, so it's not affected by the change.

6:03 PM
All the more reason for it to get enough votes to float up. That the actual author showed up in the thread is neat, but it's not nearly as good an answer to the question.

Q: What's the earliest citation for "you can hear the dice rolling in the background" about a piece of fantasy fiction?

Mustapha MondThe earliest I remember hearing this comment was about Dragonlance, which began to be published in 1984. There was earlier RPG-influenced fiction, though, as far back as Norton's Quag Keep (1978). Do we know the origin of the phrase?
