@Alex Interesting thought

1:38 AM
Let me guess, because it was once entirely unthought of that The Force Awakens could feature the muthaeffin' Millenium Falcon or a person named Rey?
To the community's defense, though, it seems the question had that moronic title from the very beginning.
Including a spoiler block for the fact that Rey is a scavenger. Dafuq wut?
@DavidW Doesn't mean people downvote it for being a duplicate, though, judging from the comments.

Q: What possible function could the R-0 droid in Star Wars have?

Erin ThursbyI understand the functions of BB-8, R2D2, C-3PO and other droids introduced in the world, but though I like R-0, I have no idea what he's FOR. I did a search to research this topic, and all I found was that the creators didn't have a function for him yet, they just created him to be cute and fo...

Q: Plague attacks all except postal workers

Mike StoneCan anyone identify a short story about a plague which is sweeping the US attacking everyone without distinction - except Post Office workers? It eventually turn out to be passed on by licking infected postage stamps.

@DavidW I don't see why it needs the spoiler markdown even from before the film so I've edited the question, that said I downvoted and not because it is a duplicate

Q: What is this golden belt that is given to Chewbacca?

BlueMoon93In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, at the end of the movie, Chewie is given a golden belt of some kind. Is this a piece of gear from a character? Leia's? Han's? What is this item, and why does it mean something to Chewie?

@TheLethalCarrot That's much better. I admit that I made an assumption about the downvotes, since (not paying overly much attention) they appeared to happen after it had been closed. (In response to Napoleon, I've been here long enough not to assume the comments and the downvotes are necessarily correlated.)
scifi.stackexchange.com/a/228740/101407 Arg, I hate retcons. If he wasn't really there, then why the burst of dark energy? In order to do one thing that doesn't make sense, they screw up things that used to make sense. :-P

I think it was a fair assumption, duplicates do tend to attract downvotes
Was it a burst of dark energy though or an explosion from whatever the body hit at the bottom of the pipe?

It's been a long time since I read it, and I don't have it to hand, but I'm pretty sure that the novelization described it as a burst of dark Force energy.
I guess the lingering remnants of the Emperor's death in the orbit of the Forest Moon is now Legends, so that doesn't matter...

Q: Old scifi movie with gray-skinned aliens, quoted in "Zoon Part 3 (Wake World)" by Nefilim

AliceAxeThere is the song "Zoon (part 3)" by Nefilim (by singer of Fields of the Nephilim) in the middle of the song is a small reversed sound clip in one channel. It sounds like a scientist's voice from an old movie: Between each finger was a fold of skin, and the creature's skin was gray, and thoug...

Q: Why was the Irishman a big failure in aspect of box office?

aminabzzWhy did people poorly receive the Irishman? According to Wikipedia, it had a box office of 8 million dollars against a budget of 159 million dollars. My own thought is that the new generations of people aren't interested in old-fashioned movie genres and old actors. They love movies with new st...

My 10yo has gone mad for Star Wars.
Vintage Star Wars, mind.

@SQB tips hat

Your 10yo's always mad for vintage stuff anyways. Doesn't he blame you for having been born in the wrong decade? :P

SQB
So far he has bought / gotten for his birthday (so he's not my 10yo, but my 11yo -- I'm still adjusting) 2 Snow Speeders, an AT-AT, an AT-ST, a Slave-I, 3 Speeder Bikes, and a bunch of miscellaneous mini-rigs.
@Jenayah I don't know, but I think we would've been good friends had he been born in the mid '70s. Also, I probably would've been a bit jealous.

Birthday without an "s"? o_O

What Napoleon said! I had to wait until my 20s to buy myself that much stuff. :)

He doesn't need to have it in a pristine state, so that helps.

@SQB ahah

He'll pass on catawiki.com/l/…
Although he would buy it in a heartbeat, had he the money.

That reminds me that I wanted to go and buy the latest two B&M comics. It's in two parts, so I waited an extra year to read it in a go. Then national lockdown came :/
Ah well, there's worse

Q: Anime where characters combine with animals/monsters when they say a code word

MaverickThis was aired before 2012. I watched this anime when I was kid but can't find the name of it. The characters combine with animals or monsters when they say plasters or some kind of code word. They need a necklace to combine transform later it was changed into a badge or something.

Q: Which author first referred to their own work as Grimdark?

creative-usernameThis question does not apply to writers who have called their work grimdark in retrospect. Meaning, after the book had already come out. There are books that came out decades ago, before the term 'grimdark' was in use, that could still fall into that category. Instead I am referring to writers wh...

Q: Where's Ajax during the first trilogy?

regionalskyBasically this entire thing is a spoiler for multiple books. So during a reread of Dark Age I noticed that Lysander au Lune seems to go on for quite a while about his relationship with Ajax au Grimmus, the son of Aja au Grimmus and Atlas au Raa. Seeing that Lysander was essentially a surrogate s...
