Q: Does the Miskatonic River match a real place?

JetpackI haven't read any of H.P. Lovecraft's works, but lately I've been intrigued by these fictional locations in my state of Massachusetts. This is how Wikipedia describes the location. The Miskatonic seems to follow a west-to-east path across Massachusetts, originating from springs in the hills...

Q: What exactly is Red River in Garth Ennis's The Boys?

Nikita NeganovThroughout the story of The Boys by Garth Ennis there are numerous mentions of so-called Red River personnel which are known to infiltrate US secret service (Herogasm #4) and tasked with securing vice-president Vic the Veep. It is never explained though, who exactly are these people. The presiden...

@Stormblessed The question asks about the series, which isn't even halfway through yet so this is still FWP. Also the close reason doesn't matter that much. Don't reopen something just to close it again, it wastes time and votes. Also even if you argue this isn't FWP, it still has 2 questions which makes it too broad. — TheLethalCarrot Aug 2 at 8:43

Q: How were the Avengers able to make this?

RenatAfter watching Avengers: Endgame many questions were raised in my mind. I asked one here already and got great responses, so here is another one that has been bugging me. However, in Avengers: Infinity War Thanos required the services of Eitri the Dwarf to make one (and I am assuming both his ...

Q: Manga where a ghost on a rooftop can't move on until he finds out an art student loved him back

BroIt's a Yaoi manga, very short, probably a one shot. The story goes that a lonesome guy goes to the rooftop and meets another guy lazing about there. He begins to talk to him and they soon begin to engage in sexual activities on the rooftop. As time passes, the main character comes to know more an...

My comment:
In the MCU, science is a magical power that some people have and other people don't. Tony has a whole lot of science, so much that he can have better vibranium gadgets than Wakandan soldiers despite having about a three-hundred year lag in R&D (Shuri has at least as much science, so her gadgets are roughly as good). When we consider this, it's clear that Tony just had more science than Thanos and perhaps even Eitri. That's impressive when you consider that Thanos must have a lot of science, since he was able to duplicate Pym particles. — Adamant 6 mins ago

Q: Does the 40K universe have an equivalent of Kevin Feige?

Richard CPart of the success of the MCU has been the hand of Kevin Feige overseeing the various projects ensuring continuity. Do Games Workshop/Black Library have a similar role? It certainly feels in recent years that the books have become more in sync, in particular with characters and events in the H...

@TheLethalCarrot The questions are sufficiently related that I wouldn’t consider it Too Broad.

Not really one is a yes/no about if something will happen or not and the other is if there is a connection between a character and an object... the only connection being that the objects are the same

If Horcruxes would appear in Fantastic Beasts it would surely be with regard to Grindelwald. So the question is essentially asking if there will be anything about Grindelwald and Horcruxes in Fantastic Beasts. The next part asks if Rowling has said anything about Grindelwald and Horcruxes, which would likely be the answer to the first part.

Except that's all speculation on your own part Horcruxes could show up in relation to another character the questions are 90% unrelated and by your own words this is then FWP as "if there will be" is the very definition of it

@TheLethalCarrot The question is “Do we know if there will be?”

I think you're reading too much into it and I don't think we'll agree so not much point carrying on

Q: What might have influenced Joss Whedon in his creation of the Chinese Alliance?

Adam ChurvisIt appears to me that Firefly's Chinese Alliance was an homage to the late, great Gene Roddenberry. His obscure 1974 made-for-television movie, "Genesis II," was about a man named Dylan Hunt undergoing suspended animation experiments when the land caves in and traps him there for about 150 years...

Q: Short story about a kid who turns out to be a robot?

ElmazorcasI read this short story in a compilation of short horror stories for kids back in 2005-06. One thing I do remember is the title of this short story was a combination of numbers and letters, like “SX458”, meaning that was the serial number for the robot-boy. In the story, this kid befriends the s...

Q: I'm looking for a Sci-Fi anthology from the late 70s. (the stories are probably older)

Logan StoutSo, I had this book when I was about 6. I lost it around when I turned 8, (parents found it, and lets just say they weren't fans of SF) and haven't seen it since. Lately I've been wishing I could let my own kids read it, so I'm hoping for either some ID's on any of the stories, or the entire anth...

Q: Story about a fantasy world that does tours for modern-day people

Specific details I remember: The tours also work...
