oh, sure, but still, that was the goal

The clock says it's the next day, but the reputation list still says it's today.

go report it as a bug

I'm not sure if it is. When I went to a new page it updated, so it may just be that it needs to be manually refreshed.

I was joking

Well that is the type of thing I would do, so I missed the joke.
In any case, we remain tied for another day.

12:05 AM
IT was an elaborate joke on me thinking it wasn't so much of a bug since it must've last at most 1 minute, but you'd report it anyway, clogging a Meta SE doesn't take seriously, hence the joke
also I was lazy to elaborate so please put more effort into understanding my 6-word jokes :P

I think I don't even understand the 38-word version.

no worries
go watch Wallace & Gromit instead

That's your number one recommendation?

tonight? Yes

Ever.

12:13 AM
I don't think I ave such a thing.
But seriously, W&G is a classic and it's like 20 minutes each
watch them :P
(four short films)
And a 1h30 something movie
This got through with such an edit reason? ahah scifi.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/6577

Anyway, this discussion has reminded me of a feature request.
@Jenayah I doubt too many people are reading the revision history

1:15 AM
@Alex it was an approved efit

@Jenayah I know, but it's not such a big deal because not many people will ever see it.

2:12 AM
Why is Alex's edit not reviewable but not approved or rejected?

Its sources are HORRIBLE:

@Stormblessed Strange...

Well, who among us isn't familiar with the two headed Nephilim Jimmy Fallon?

5:13 AM
@Stormblessed because it's still pending, but reviewing tag wiki edits required 5k, so that will have to wait for a >5k reviewer
@Stormblessed no idea, but certainly doesn't look good...

@Jenayah Yeah; AFAIK, if it's in code formatting, a screen reader will read it out character by character. Definitely just use quote markup instead.

5:31 AM
@Mithrandir oof. Alright good to know! Cc @gowenfawr for good measure :)

Since hair can’t be preserved in fossils we can’t rule out the possibility that dinosaurs looked like this

6:50 AM
Edits finally approved. Only seven hours too late.

Not like they needed to be sorted fast. Though FWIW they didn’t show on review I had to go find them which means either someone had just opened them or something odd was happening

7:15 AM
Now that you say it, the two previous ones (Braille and MCU order also didn't show up).

Q: In 'Revenger,' what does 'cove' come from?

Azor AhaiIn Alastair Reynolds' Revenger, which is set some tens of millions of years in the future, the characters have new nicknames for things. Usually the derivation is pretty obvious, "grey" for brains, "gen" for intelligence. But I can't figure out where "cove" for a single person came from. Anyone ...

Q: Old story about a heroic bureaucrat who wants to prove that a war on another planet is just a government hoax

LorendiacThis was a short story I read a long, long time ago. I think I first read it no later than 1986, and I may have run across it again sometime in the 1990s. It was written in English, reprinted in an anthology which I found in a public library in Indiana, and I have no idea who wrote it. It did not...

Q: How were there two Martys in 1955 in Back to the Future 2?

Naman KumarIn BTTF 2, in the second timeline where Biff went back to 1955 to give the sports almanac to younger Biff, it doesn't make sense that there would be an original Marty running around. This is my reasoning: Since in the original timeline, Doc Brown was just a local inventor in 1985, Marty was able...

@TheLethalCarrot if you weren't remembering it yourself and didn't Google-Fu it, at least credit @Adamant...

And if I wasn't I would

Then make it clearer ;p

What's clearer than not stating it?

A personal opinion, a comment stating you didn't see Adamant's comment, or saw it but remembered it yourself, options aren't lacking

Just to make you happy then
FWIW I knew this from reading the description before seeing @Adamant's comment. — TheLethalCarrot 10 secs ago

Yeah people don't like them because they are just English language questions but are on topic due to being related to a SFF work

@TheLethalCarrot Eyeh... when it's an actual phrase, it makes sense. But we're approaching the level of "It depends on what your definition of 'is' is". :-/
But, that said, much as with my martial arts classes at work, sometimes it's hard to remember that what is easy for you might once have been hard.

Oh yeah I'm sure for quite a lot of users where English isn't there first language, and even for some where it is, the answer isn't clear. But some of these questions are on very basic English and I am questioning whether we draw the line somewhere
That said I really don't mind either way if these are allowed or not

@FuzzyBoots what martial art? :)

11:47 AM
@Jenayah Capoeira. :) Last class was cartwheels, handstands, and something akin to the "baby freeze" in breakdancing. So not tremendously easy things, but I tend to take a certain degree of upper body strength for granted, at least in relation to the rest of one's mass.

@Jenayah I hadn't clicked into it. Honestly, it's kind of a grey one in my eyes. I'm not certain if they're looking for official information on the set pieces (which may have a definitive answer) or places too for inspiration (which would be a recommendation question).

@Jenayah I tend to just skip over Trek questions. (Not as bad as HP questions, which I'm ignoring, but still.)
That question hasn't collected many views, so it seems like most people just aren't interested enough to look at it.

Q: The Iron Man Mark 33, Silver Centurion, has got vibranium blades in it. How does Tony Stark have access to vibranium?

TymetrainAs far as I'm aware, Vibranium was exclusively in Wakanda (except for the Vibranium that Ulysses Klaue stole and later gave to Ultron and the Vibranium from Howard Stark that is in Cap's Shield). So how is it possible that Tony Stark has Vibranium?

@Marvin You know what vibranium is, right? This thing called Ultron, and other things, lots of things are done with vibranium, including some bad things.

Q: What does MCU stand for?

Hobo_warriorI see the acronym MCU being used a lot on Science Fiction & Fantasy Stack Exchange. What does it stand for?

Why is this not deleted? It only takes looking at Wikipedia for about 10 seconds to answer
(Or, I learned, just looking up the abbreviation...)

Low quality != delete / close worthy

It's extremely low quality, not just very
@Mithrandir But then what's the point of VLQ?

It sends stuff to the LQP queue. IMO, it's kinda useless (and I'm not the only one who thinks that way).

@Stormblessed It's a warning not to ask questions that only require "looking at Wikipedia for about 10 seconds" to answer.

Q: Send authors an inbox message if their question is put on hold

TheLQI think it would really help if you get notified that a question of yours was closed. @Null Not that we're sore about that or anything. ;)

9:38 PM
@Stormblessed I'd be more interested in a notification when my question gets deleted. If a question is closed, I can at least see it in my list of questions, and I do occasionally review that. But a deleted question only shows up if I specifically search for such.
Also, a notification when an answer to my question is edited would be nice.
Not necessarily in the notification pulldown, but at least around scifi.stackexchange.com/users/4918/b-jonas?tab=responses somewhere.

@Stormblessed It's something that I don't personally understand why we don't do... I'd personally like to understand why we made this choice better and investigate whether it stays that way. No promises, though.

9:56 PM
I'd be happy if it were opt-in; it wouldn't cause new users to get really angry or anything because they wouldn't have it on, which is the biggest argument against it I've heard
I got my first Gold Badge! It's the easiest one, but still looks cool on my profile :-)

@Stormblessed Copy editor? I don't think that's the easiest gold badge.

@b_jonas I didn't need to write a good answer, so it seems relatively easy
Actually, Electorate is probably easier

10:15 PM
@Stormblessed I'd say (from personal experience) that Fanatic is probably the easiest gold badge; I'm not half way to any of the others. (But then I haven't been trying to rack up edits or votes either.)

Famous Question is by far the most awarded, so it could be considered the easiest gold badge for that reason.
If you're lucky enough to get your question on the HNQ you can get it with very little effort.
