Anyone have a handy link to somewhere where the delete reason that goes something like "This does not answer the question – if you have a new question post it here" appears?

Q: How Ynnari protect themselves from Slaanesh?

YasskierEvery Eldar is at risk of losing his/her soul to She-Who-Thirsts. Fortunately, there are ways to protect themselves from that: Craftworld Eldars wear spirit stones and follow strict mental Paths, that lock them for years into one state of mind, therefore reducing the chance of falling prey to th...

Q: What's going on with the Blood-Sucker?

AdamantOn the TV show Anjaan: Special Crimes Unit, at one point Aditi and Vikrant investigate a case of murders by a supposed "Blood-Sucker," more or less a vampire. At the end of the episode, we see that Parvati, the mother of the bullied girl at the center of the episode's plot, seems to be behind the...

Q: Does Wilfred know he is the one to fulfill the four knocks prophecy?

JamminermitI was wondering whether Wilfred ever realises that he is the one to fulfill the prophecy that ultimately kills Tennant. In the episode, Wilf says that he thinks the master is the one to fulfill, but we found out it is in fact him, but does he realise it?

Q: What can we do to encourage new users not to give up so fast?

BasyaI've noticed a recurring phenomenon: New user apparently created an account to ask a specific question (often, story-identification). New user disappears after a day or two, not having received an answer. Someone answers the question with a good answer say, two or three days after the question ...

Q: How did the warrior lodges help to spread the Heresy?

ShadeThere are several mentions of the warrior lodges in the Horus Heresy books. According to the books, this helped Lorgar to spread the heresy. From Lexicanums Warrior Lodge Article: The Warrior Lodges were a group of secret fraternities formed by members of the Space Marine Legions during the G...

Q: In the comics, has any of the Robins called their costume being "target attraction" for villains?

ShreedharIn Season 1 Episode 6 :Jason Todd of the live-action Titans (2018) series, the new Robin (Jason Todd) rescues Dick at Dr. Adamson's apartment. In the conversation between them that followed, Dick says: Dick: He lets you drive the Batmobile? Wouldn't you rather have your own name? Like "Sparr...

Q: Why do spaceships in Star Wars have wings?

jamaicanwormMany of the spaceships in Star Wars, e.g. X-wings, have wings as part of the design. If there's no air resistance in space, why would wings be at all beneficial? Wouldn't it be better to have a small, compact shape to a make a star fighter easier to cram through small spaces?

Q: Why isn't Hagrid removed from Hogwarts sooner in Harry's would-be 7th year?

KecoeyIn the 7th book, when Ron is eventually able to tune in to the Potterwatch radio station with the password "Albus", they mention that there was an attempt to arrest Hagrid for hosting an event at Hogwarts in support of Harry. This means that he remained at Hogwarts for a number of months into Har...

Aha. So now I understand why I still have a flag pending 12h later...
And here I'd told myself I wasn't going to try to go back and read what I missed... :-P

You just caught up on the past few weeks events?

Was away.

Ah, well enjoy haha

But yeah, mostly caught up now, though I skimmed a lot of it.

I was reading stuff at the time and I only skimmed and haven't read most of it at all
My oldest pending flag is currently 4 days old I think

4:14 PM
I don't know if there's a lot more to learn from a deeper reading, tbh. I'm sure that everyone has slightly different feelings, different reasons foremost, etc. But that doesn't substantively change the aggregate...
Well, 12h is about when I got back, so I haven't had time to age any to such a rarefied vintage yet. :)

Haha
For a quick recap or how it's affected SFF though: our 2 most active moderators have suspended activity with our 3rd most (I think) joining them. That's left one active mod to work on his own with our completely inactive mod who has actually done a few things in the past couple of days
So yeah flag handling times have sky rocketed

@TheLethalCarrot Reading all of it is bad for your health. Trust me on that one.

4:30 PM
I was never going to try to nor can I tbf

I read the meta question you linked, skimmed a couple of the linked questions, and read the answers from Rand, Null and Kevin. And then I read el Reg's take on it, and I consider myself adequately informed.

Q: What happened to Ikor?

Vogon PoetUatu's father Ikor is the sole reason the Watcher's vowed not to interfere with the affairs of other races, but instead only observe and collect knowledge. The Prosilicans destroyed their planet because Ikor gave them the "gift" of nuclear science which they used to start and finish an auto-genoc...

Q: What is the maxium number of S-foils a spacecraft has had?

BooleanThe X-wing fighter is one of the most iconic spacecraft from Star Wars, mainly thanks to its unique appearance, including it's 4 moving wings (S-foils.) What is the maximum number of moving wings (s-foils) that has been seen in Star Wars?

Q: Can anyone kill a Watcher?

Vogon PoetWatchers are immortal and allegedly the oldest race in the universe. One of the Watchers, Uatu, lives on earth's moon and watches the human race. Thier powers are nearly infinite as they can alter molecular composition, teleport anywhere in the universe instantly and also to other dimensions, use...

@DavidW At first I thought "el Reg" meant the inimitable Reg Dwight.

Ah, sorry. Shouldn't have used that nickname in a general context; normally I'm talking to people who also read it.
For future reference, assuming anyone cares, I was referring to The Register (sub: "Biting the hand that feeds IT"), a tech news site with a rather... cynical take.

You could've skipped that. It wasn't very accurate.

But I would have read it regardless. :)

Q: Auto-bots and Car Culture

K DogOne of the things that perplexes me is that the autobots didn't really adopt car culture very much, or maybe I am missing some things. For example, did an Autobot ever have personalized mudflaps? Dice on the mirror or raccoon tail on the antenna? Truck nuts?

Tragically they have all been identified already.

Just blank out the names and then make it one of these useless 500-page CW lists. ;-)

Useless?
I enjoy those questions.

Who doesn't?

8:20 PM
They always get some close votes.

8:38 PM
'Cause they're boring. Say I'm a master of Star Wars, I've played all the games, and I can actually tell minuscule 10px high renderings of Mon Calmari cruisers from one another. I still don't know .+ about EVE and/or Warhammer and I have 0 reason to bother learning...

Q: Where did Skrull Phil Coulson get a gun?

Vogon PoetThe skrulls can shape-shift to use parts of their bodies to form solid hand-weapons (as extensions), but how did the Skrull impersonating Coulson get a human gun - which he allegedly could use and can actually drop? From the Wikia article on Skrulls: When they imitate an inorganic object, th...

"The Millennium Falcon, with its class 0.5 hyperdrive, can travel at 6.13 quadrillion miles per hour" seems like it has to be a mistake. 6e15 miles is a bit more than 1000ly! Per hour!?

Q: Would the hypothetical Alcubierre Warp drive be faster than the Millennium Falcon?

MaxThe Millennium Falcon, with its class 0.5 hyperdrive, can travel at 6.13 quadrillion miles per hour, and I read somewhere that the Alcubierre drive could theoretically move at 10x the speed of light at the minimum. Hyperdrive s work by letting a ship enter hyperspace, a dimension separate from th...

Vogon PoetOccasionally I try to tag someone in a comment with @ and the name does not autocomplete, and also when the comment posts it is not tagged to that person - even if I fully spell out their name. No amount of editing allows me to insert the tag. This seems to be completely arbitrary. I'm not sure ...
