@XanderHenderson There are basics: I named a few. Don't pick your nose. If you ask, say please. If Someone answers or helps or gives you info/goods/money/advice/etc., say thankyou. There are general manners that I would accept anywhere, in any context, but it rests on the presumption that mature or maturing decent human beings aren't braggarts, know not to lie the majority of the time, appreciate other's time and help, are willing to help as much as they expect help, don't take for granted ...
...peoples time and effort to help you; don't cop an attitude when asking for help; don't get angry if you don't get the help you need because you never even asked for it, ... @XanderHenderson, excuse me... Note nothing I've said here is site specific, nor education specific. Be nice: that a feature expected of all users here on SE. Don't be rude. Are we needing to qualify every question asked with a lesson in niceness, and pointing out behavior that is rude?
The next time you're up to your neck with frustration with a user, or their question, can I remind you that people need to learn how to eat, and write, and swallow, and say thank you, and ask good questions, and use "please" and not pick their noses, and why would you expect anyone to have manners, because we must teach them, as well as math? (use manners alongside math: thumbs up).
