Hey Michael! I haven't read the post you are talking about. I'm not speaking as to whether or not you are right or wrong on the issue of the question itself, rather the approach you take in communicating your thoughts on the question to others is a tad abrasive and will actually make them defensive and less willingly to listen to you. I really think you will find that, in terms of getting the desired outcome, you might try saying something along these lines,
"@amWhy, I was confused by your decision to downvote this post. I felt that it was a good post because "...".
