@SimplyBeautifulArt they came here to complain (see Amateur's first post on this page) about a comment/ response to him/her regarding the (in)quality of their answer on a specific question.. They received a response. Then, what I take to be sarcastic, while departing s/he posted their second comment. Not a happy camper. that's all.

It was a response to a comment Did left, and not about any up/down/delete votes on main mse. Nothing juicy to say, just a run-of-the-mill encounters in comments etc.

@SimplyBeautifulArt Is that what you were/are asking about? (last 2 comments of mine). 'Cuz I would be confused if you referring to something else. (See the elaborate cited source above, from AmateurMathGuy.)

If I may add, I objected to @Did's comments, for non-constructive critique, and I await his model post for a better answer to said question, so that as I continue to use this site, I may better answer future questions by modeling my answer format after @Did. And If my answer is so bad, I invite you accomplished mathematicians to downvote and delete it.

My assumptions about MSE are that variety is appreciated, and the answerer may answer in his/her own style, and if a critique is made, then it should be substantive and not about a matter of taste. Am I wrong or am I right?

@AmateurMathGuy You need to lighten up a bit, @AmateurMathGuy. Virtually anyone, everyone who comments intends to help improve the post; most are reluctant to take it upon themselves to do the improving. So instead, you may be offered suggestions, critiques, to give you more eyes in reviewing a post. They are not to be taken as personal insults. I know that it can be tough to not take things personally (I know that very well, in fact).

But the best advice I have for you at this moment in time is to realize comments respond to a question, or an answer, or a comment. Any critique you may find, unless it is obscene/offensive, etc, is about those items, and not about the asker, answerer, etc.

@AmateurMathGuy Whom do you think you can fool? Are you aware that previous versions of answers can still be read on the Revisions page? So, if you think that putting in bold for you the only sentence in your post that was somewhat addressing the question, thus enhancing your post (an enhancement you took care to keep), is "non constructive", you should check the meaning of the word. Re your childish insults, thinly veiled or not, in comments on main now deleted or here, let me just say this: if really you were interested in posting better posts, you would keep quiet and read "model" posts by others and try to emulate them. Ok well, I was a little snarky to be sure. Still standing by on that better answer though. And my question was is variety accepted on MSE or not? Is someone's matter of taste subject to criticism or not? Let's keep this on topic shall we? My post, any edition of it even, was not off the mark was it?

Someone asks a question on MSE and we're all supposed to follow the format of someone? I can dish out criticism too. @Did maybe felt I was too verbose? To indirect? I gave the explanation I would have liked when I was in the asker's shoes.

Therefore @Did's critique was off topic and unnecessary, and I flagged @Did for it. I answered it the way I answered it and there's nothing wrong with it unless you can tell me something SUBSTANTIVE

Anyway, I see that all comments you made were stripped as well, and hence were certainly offensive, rude, off-topic, etc. You need to let this go. No comments left for you to complain of. Just don't get into stalking any user because you're upset; I'm not saying you are; this has been one day that doesn't look good for you; but it gives a record if you continue.

@amWhy Did I? Due to the few moderators entering, I assume the flags came through. I haven't flagged all of the last 90 minutes, but I took the time to move all messages related to this incident and (hopefully) none that weren't.

@amWhy ... The point is that you want the posts removed, right? The user isn't here right now and it's unlikely they will return... if they do, and they persist, then a flag makes sense... but hours later, there's not much we can do.

@Catija According to my list of users currently in the room, said user is still in this room. Of course, could just be chat not working quite right.

The transcript reads "10:18" but the local time for the same comment was actually 17:18, which is, indeed, just about 15 minutes ago... so it's 7 hours more recent than I though.

I flagged when the posts from problem user were entirely unreasonable. Which I could only have known had I seen this build today.... and after trying to moderate, and then warn, and it still continued, I flagged, and I flagged a very recent comment, summarizing the build up. Any way, thanks anyway.

@Catija, This is the post I thought went too far, and so I flagged it just shortly before it was trashed. This flag was not, ever, about posts posted 7 hours ago.
