How to decide whether to pick 4-Bromo-2-methoxyphenol or 4-bromo-6-methoxyphenol as the name for the compound? (edited m.) - A couple of "close for homework" on this one. I feel like it has explanation enough to keep it open, but that's an opinion. The title needs to be more descriptive, though.

@Martin-マーチン I usually think of synthetic chemistry as designing a sequence need to produce a compound, experimental chemistry is more about the actual exectution. e.g. synthetic chemistry - I need cryogenic conditions with dry atmosphere to perform a sensitive reaction; experimental chemistry - I use dry ice to acheive cryogenic conditions and molecular sieves to achieve a dry atmosphere. I would say they compliment each other but are not synonyms.
