@A.K. There is pretty much nothing you can break. It needs 3 delete votes to actually delete a post, and you are only able to vote on quite clear cases. I think in some review queues you are now able to vote delete instead of 'recommend deletion'. You'll do fine...
@orthocresol Even though I didn't say it, I was including him in my thought process. He states at the end 'Maybe that's what your equations already do.' This made me question whether he understood it in a way that could help clean it up... but I've seen that you have commented, so maybe we get lucky. I'm going ahead with minor touch-ups, to get it off our review ballot.
@A.K. I can count on one hand (ok, maybe two) the number of cases where the community has deleted something by themselves. And those people (I’m thinking of Jan and Klaus) are no longer really active. Even if you tried really hard, short of getting a few more 10k rep socks, there’s not much you can do...

@orthocresol I've fixed as much as I could, even inserted some comments. I guess I deciphered the acronyms... I guess I am right with my assumption the PHI should be a \phi... but whatevs... I also stumbled across this comment, but I guess you saw that, too. So I wouldn't get my hopes up. But maybe the bump will help the situation...
It looks like you were able to solve it correctly. I am not familiar with the equations you used, so I have trouble relating to what you did. The method I suggested in my original answer is obviously not the way to go, so I have deleted my answer. But I have developed an alternative approach that I'm pretty confident will work. — Chet Miller May 29 '16 at 0:43
