@GaurangTandon We decided, because of the amount of questions to be handled to phase it out very slowly. When we started that process those questions made up about 15%, so caution is advised with such a major change. Reaction was a bit different, although in the end, the decision maybe was a bit hasty. We didn't want to have the same situation again though. Cleanup first, everything else later.
@Martin-マーチン okay that's interesting; but i didn't mean to remove the tag from all questions instantly; i meant to disallow it on new questions; is that not possible?
@GaurangTandon yeah, we thought about that, too. But we decided it is more beneficial to keep an eye on the new uses here. That way we can weed out some stuff, as soon as it comes in... Plus, we don't need to bother the team (developers) for it and can do the hard work all by ourselves
@GaurangTandon No. Very often, when the tag is applied here, it means that the user did not even bother to read the all-caps tag description. It also is very likely that everything else was ignored. Most of the questions are already closed when we get around to treat them here. Keeping an eye out basically only means that we check whether it will self-destruct, can be salvaged, or has to be cleaned up manually.
We found that treating them as soon as they come in, gives us the advantage of stuff not piling up.
We miss enough anyway, but at least this is a measure we can actively control
@GaurangTandon as sad as it may be, a question tagged homework (nowadays) has a +90% chance of being closed, then automatically deleted. We use this room to make sure this happens, because there are some things that prevent automatic deletion, i.e. answers. This is just a measure of control we can apply to these questions, while they are "fresh"
@GaurangTandon yes you're right, I could have mentioned rusting. Chemically I'd say that is the same, however ageing sounds a bit more general; rusting has the iron connotation... but i uv your comment, so it's there as a reference...
@Martin-マーチン i commented that because when I search for "aging of iron" I got things like "excess iron accumulation with age could be one of the major causes of aging: iron accelerates aging." :P
I just crossed 2k rep, that means I no longer am gonna go through the review for suggested edits, just poking you guys in case you wanna make sure am doing edits properly for some initial time
@Martin-マーチン The wiki for formatting doesn't specify how to format E/Z letters in stereodescription
<pings quantum mechanics people> I edited a post about schrodinger here chemistry.stackexchange.com/a/90818/5026 can anyone confirm I did not mess up anything in the formulae? (because I don't know those things at all)
