@BoLe There is no rule for Plus[1, Unevaluated[RandomReal[]]] (i.e. for Plus[1, RandomReal[]] with RandomReal[] not evaluated to a number). But there are rules for what you are proposing, so Unevaluated gets stripped. For Plus[1, 2, Unevaluated[RandomReal[]]] it's probably something like Plus[a_, b_, rest_] := Plus[InternalPlus[a,b], rest…
