@JohnRennie An electron of energy 20eV comes in collision with Hydrogen atom in ground state. The hydrogen atom is excited then subsequently return to ground state emitting a photon of 1.215 * 10^(-7) m. Find the velocity of scattered electrons.

Yes. Find the energy of the photon, and that will tell you how much of the electrons original 20eV energy was transferred to the hydrogen atom.
