@JosephWeissman Is it possible to just put a Wikipedia link in a tag and its shorter version? Will it be clickable if you hover over the tag?

Yeah, it's full markdown.
(I'm not exactly sure how it will render everywhere on the site.)
But again please avoid just copy-pasting stuff from elsewhere -- there's bigger-picture reasons for growing our own tag wiki content ourselves, rather than just blindly posting material from elsewhere.
It's not just talking about what the thing is in itself -- it's about what we expect questions tagged like that to mean. It's definitely helpful to put some of the things you might learn on Wiki in here, appropriately attributed, but not everything is really relevant/on-point in the same way.
(This is basically the argument made in the linked thread on meta.SO.)

@JosephWeissman OK, new attempt. :)

I wonder if we can't be a bit more specific than "John Rawls (1921 - 2002) was an American philosopher"
Just off the top of my head: I think he's pretty much mostly a political and legal philosopher [though I see now you've added that to the bigger wiki]
He's concerned with social ethics; maybe best known for advocating the "veil of ignorance"
It's something like -- when formulating laws and regulations, we should imagine we don't know your class, race, gender, abilities, etc., in order to achieve optimal equality, or at least experience some built-in bias towards parity
I'm not sure how well I'm putting all that
But anyway -- stubs are definitely fine :)
Just in passing, @aufkag: the really high-value tag wikis to stub out would be the most popular ones, i.e., those missing descriptions on the first couple of pages of philosophy.stackexchange.com/tags
