Hey, to motivate a cannon answer to my vegan/vegetarian cookbook question, I just added all my rep to it. If someone has a good amount of cooking experience, I'd love to see your answer!

@AlekFröhlich I have a lot of cooking experience I guess but I don't go for economy type cookbooks
Hebbar's Kitchen (mentioned by someone there) is awesome
I think my favourite cookbook is Vegan Richa's Indian Kitchen
btw, big list questions (where there are an enormous number of possible answers) are kinda discouraged on Stack Exchange
idk though, maybe it could be ok

@Zanna I guess because I learned to cook in my teens as a vegetarian - I know how to cook simple cheap food already. I use cookbooks to learn new things :)
Veganuary produce good recipe plans

@Zanna yes. Big list questions have traditionally been discouraged on Stack Exchange, but individual sites are also free to set their own social norms. Our meta site is the best place to make (and update) those norms. vegetarianism.meta.stackexchange.com/q/54/1236

@Zanna Oh, I didn't know that; I just thought it could be useful for me and other people :/
My motivation for the question was that by searching "vegetarian cookbooks" on the internet one usually finds one of (1) random website with arbitrary list (the justifications are typically bad on these sites) or (2) e-commerce like Amazon.
Yes, you could kind of filter by reviews, but is usually easier to track down the reputation of randomPerson123 on SE than to do it on a site like Amazon. I also tend to find Goodreads reviews to be unhelpful, but that may well be due to my lack of experience with the site.
Another thing that I considered is this: I typically use SE sites as my first search on a subject. For example, yesterday I was curious about the why's and how's of Operator Algebras and mathoverflow.net/questions/200696/… ended up being very relevant towards giving me that initial feel for the field.
Wouldn't vegetarian/vegan newbies be drawn into such questions and profit from them?
