sorry I was pretty tired last night
no need to apologise, if it's any consolation i would just leave if i was going to bed.
@NogShine I see you've gained a hat on this site already :D
@Zanna Yes!
good work ^_^
Thanks. but it's just a vote.

I've wanted to write an answer here about fats for a while. It will take a lot of research. But hatting gives me a bit of motivation...
hats are lub <3
Hats give me enough motivation to post multiple answers a day.
maybe I can ask some questions here and you can answer them haha
Haha. Answer yourself. Who knows? there could be a secret hat or that!
I need to post a Q&A about the history podcast
did you look at it at all?
Yes, I loked at it. The part which was relevant to Hinduism.
10:20
that episode focused on Hinduism, but there was something about Hindus in almost every episode.
WHOA.
sorry accidental caps
but applicable
what happened?
you have a good user pic for hats btw XD
conversation, I was whoaing at
I always wonder how people can be bothered to post lengthy answers where they've had to do research, I could never be bothered with that.
Wrong site for that attitude, I suppose :D
Greetings Natalie.
10:40
@DavidS nah... you posted some very good answers here
if I was on Slack I'd give you the :sideeye: emoji ... maybe two or three answers and one of them I would probably recant now instead of argue with Tom Kelly about it :D
Since, I now agree, I just took exception to his tone ... haha

Q: Is there a detailed, global history of vegetarianism and veganism available online?

ZannaI would like to know if there is any detailed, research-based history of vegetarianism and/or veganism available online. Ideally, I am looking for something global that avoids an ethnocentric approach. Some UK and other European and North American vegetarian and vegan societies and associations ...

My first thought was The Vegan Option too
@DavidS haha that's one person I avoid
gotta upvote that
oh wait, you answered your own thing
cheeky
10:49
haha is it?
sorry
You can make a Q&A about The Vegan Option in general as that serves a different purpose
I made a tag ... now I should make a wiki and add some other questions to it
or is that a bad idea for a tag?
don't ask me, I don't know the proper way to do this site
as I think I've demonstrated :D
lol
There's wikis?
Neat. TIL
(nice hat)
10:58
thanks!
ideally you can learn a whole lot about a subject by reading a sites tag wikis... many many of them network-wide need work though... I should try to work on that

permissions are one of those things I never fully retain the full information... I always forget the exact effect the sticky bit has on files and directories...
dirs you can.... create but not delete(?) and files become immutable or ...
something else.
shrug
hahaha same for me... I couldn't work out exactly what the sticky bit does by testing
it doesn't seem to do what I expected it to
11:28
fascinating, traditional UNIX uses it to determine if it should cache the file in swap to make it quicker to load (when that sort of thing was a decent overhead)
oooh
these days I feel like swap is only useful for hibernation
my system is unusable when swapping
but I guess sometimes just a page or two gets swapped and you notice only a small delay
better than OOM death
Yeah you can be sure all the Java servers we have will be the ones to run out of swap sooner or later.
I read a really good article on Java MM... but it's all left my head again now.
that happens for all things I read D:

3 hours later…
14:29
@Zanna came out good, especially with tomato chilli relish
14:42
Why are you telling yourself?
was it a burger statement?
oh yes, sorry the arrow makes everything become clear
magic arrow
lots of seeds?
what else?
mostly seeds
onion, chickpea flour, garlic, and many many seeds haha
seed burger
tahini also... but that is made of seeds
bird food burger
14:50
mental but not a bad mental.
haha
pine nuts are seeds right?
not crumbly?
not crumbly. Very firm and well stuck together with ground chia
another seed!
think of a seed... it was probably in the recipe
