@Adám if i cut and paste this into Dyalog APL i get "SYNTAX ERROR: Unpaired brace". how come i get an error but it works OK in the tio.run link?

TIO isn't a REPL

whereas the Dyalog APL IDE (by default) will execute every separate input line as a line of code, and, when it gets a line of Fibonacci←{⎕IO←0 ⍝ First ⍵ fibonacci numbers., it'll understandably think that's invalid

Read, Evaluate, Print, Loop. The idea that you get an instant result for each line you execute, as opposed to writing a full program and executing it all at once

the proper thing to do would be to execute )ed Fibonacci, paste the code there, end exit the window

@dzaima when i exit i get a message of "Cannot fix object without a name". looks like i have to do something else but no idea what.

You need to include the Fibonacci← part too

(though i appear to need to comment out the 0::⍬ line for it to work for whatever reason)

@dzaima had a blank line before Fibonacci←. removed that and 0::⍬ and it now works. thanks!!

OK, I've managed to cut it down. Logged as 19839
