@ngn IIRC they are generated off of your IP address and/or email. I recall seeing a post using equal identicons of users with strange activity as extra proof of them being sock puppets

@dzaima Interesting. They are different for different StackExchange sites. I thought my default identicon might have changed because I recently made PPCG my main site instead of StackOverflow.
