@flawr the real question is, if I use isosceles triangles, do they have a ratio of 1 because I can't rotate them, or do I have to rotate them to minimise the gaps, giving them a ratio of 0

In American football, there can be at most one pass per play. That is, when the ball is thrown forward (in the direction of the goal) from one player to another. You can, however, lateral the ball any number of times, tossing it backwards from one player to another.
