『おそ松さん』第三期第十一話has a very interesting sketch where the 六つ子 talk about food related loanwords.
They talk about how people used to say "スパゲッティ" but now it is "パスタ" (this usage transition from spaghetti to pasta also occurred in English but presumably earlier than in Japanese. I seem to recall watching a 60s movie where a character complains about the "new, fancy word" pasta)
一松:あれいつからパスタって呼び始めた?切り替えるタイミングが恥ずかしいんだよ
Of course, technically speaking, spaghetti is a kind of pasta. But the popularization of the more general term in these two languages is very interesting.
十四松:昔は「マルガリータ」だったのに今は「マルゲリータ」
He mistakes the cocktail for a kind of pizza.
Then another one says: ピザもそうだよね。最近になってピッツァ
