@kuchitsu 麻花（マーホア）? Apparently it is of Chinese origin and comes in different brands and sizes. Or could it be 縄かりん糖？ or 麦縄菓子？ There seems to be several different twisty-shaped treats in Japan

Q: How can I calculate what % of a text are place names / people names?

I am interested in doing a calculation of any piece of Japanese text to find an average number of words/kanji which are proper nouns, ie names of people or places. I assume this is a possible function in corpus analysis, but I am interested in how to generate my own data on the use of jinmeiyo ka...
