Honestly, the hardest part about studying is the 10 minutes before I start

5:56 AM
Boom! page of notes knocked out of the park! Now off to bed!

@hippietrail It's morning here, so I thought I would say おはよう :-)

I thought it would be good for the tag to say ren'yōkei so it reads as れんようけい rather than れにょうけい, but apparently you can't put apostrophes into tag names

@snailboat yes when i made the tag i copied and pasted in ren'yōkei but the SE system removed the apostrophe

Would 行かされた really not be considered a colloquial form?
I always thought this, even confidently so
so if I'm wrong it's kind of a Big Deal for my understanding

Anonymous
@ssb Well, the other form seems to be much less common, doesn't it?

ssb
See, in my mind
it was the other way around
I thought was something I only ever encountered spoken
but I went ahead and checked the BCCWJ and sure enough
my perception was just totally wrong
I guess
But now I just had someone tell me "だめ、口語"
so what's a boy to believe?
Well more in depth googling is showing people confused about why learners are taught that させられる is the correct way
