I’ve always felt that 店舗 can refer to different locations of a given (chain) store, but 店 can’t really. But no dictionary entry seems to support that, so I’m not sure. Is it just me?
yeah, 店舗 is used specifically for referring to different locations of a given business/chain store, while I think 店 can mean both a given business/chain store and its different locations.
@DariusJahandarie Oops! I meant to write ""a given business/chain" sense is the vastly dominant one"! I got it mixed up with 店舗 in my head at that moment of writing. Sorry!
