@QING Any context for that?

A: 落語の魅力っていうと、どういうところですか。

B: そうですね。 えー、無駄がないところだと思います。

A: はあ、無駄がない。

B: あの、演じる側に、こう、無駄がまったくないところが、落語のいいところだと思います。 座布団というものの上に、着物を着て座ります。

Note that you wrote 駄目 instead of 無駄 at first. :)
Which is understandable, I also sometimes "see" wrong words, probably due to not having enough experience with them.

@kuchitsu Thanks. I found the explanation.

Oh. That makes more sense :-)

@kuchitsu Me too. Actually, it happens to me in English too, just not quite as often.

Is my sentence「小さな損失を避けようとしても、逆に大きな損失を得た。」grammatically correct? I want to say "Trying to avoid small loss, on the contrary I got big loss.".
For example: someone saves his money by not using proper ratio of sand to cement, now his half-built house collapsed.

@ArtificialStupidity 「しても」はおかしいので・・
「して、逆に」とか
「したのに」とか
小さな損失を避けようとして・したのに、逆に大きな損失を出した。
とか
「損失を出した」のほうがよく使うかな
「損失を被った」(こうむった)という言い方もあるね

Oh god I hate google translator
I wanted to know how to say "A draw", "A tie" in a game
Since I thought going from english to Japanese would not give me the desired result
I tried from portuguese to Japanese, since "empate" means "a tie" but it doesn't mean "a neck tie" at all.
still, that's what Google Translator gives me "ネクタイ" lol
It somehow translates the word to english and then it goes for japanese, what a mess

@FelipeOliveira That's because of how machine translation works. For it to be effective, they need large parallel corpora for a given language pair. There's a lot of English/Japanese and English/Portuguese, but not as much Japanese/Portuguese, so they have to make two hops to reach their destination.
