Oh I understand now
If this isn't OK too, I'll just remove the answer

4 hours later…
10:00
Just try to fix it

1 hour later…
11:30
I tried it again, now it gets errors for some reason

3 hours later…
14:12
Modified the program so that it starts like [(:<>)+,-.]: tio.run/nexus/…
@betseg Now when there is an alien character, it outputs 2e0a
That's another bug, since after encountering such a character, the program doesn't output anything else

3 hours later…
16:57
@KritixiLithos click debug, it shows why
Do you know a fix?
Fixed it (sorta): tio.run/nexus/…
2e0a is actually 2 ASCII characters: .\n. pbrain outputs that if there is an error (I think)
It now outputs 0c00 for each bad character
I think that's ok
> Here, x represents any output that is not a valid output for a character position (e.g., a negative number, 0 if you use 1-based indexing, NaN, Inf, the string potato, a number greater than your program's length, etc).
0c00 looks OK
Since we use 1-indexed output
17:05
But you know, 0x0c is 12, that might be a problem
But 12 is greater than the program length, so that is invalid
Nope
>_< just realised that
I used (>>>>>>) instead: tio.run/nexus/…
Now it outputs ff00
We have to golf our solution to under 255 bytes then
Did the almost same thing :p
> Great minds think alike
17:14
Woah m8
Oh shit wait
MAN
MAN
THERE IS A + AND 2 -S IN THE PROGRAM
12-N 2+N ETC
REMKVE THESE
What, stop caps
Prints 00 for chars that aren't in the program now
Ah no but closer now
It still prints the ff00
Program had this:
12-n n+2 _ n+2; _ _ _ i _ _ _ _ _ _
A - and 2 +s
But removing them makes no difference apparently
17:19
For starters, other chars at the end of the program works better now
What do you mean? It still outputs ff00
Whatever it's still broken :/
If we make the output 2-based, then it outputs 0001 instead
I thought this:
Skip printing if equals ff (-1), print else
What about ^^^^?
17:25
It prints 2 numbers if not in program
I did it!
Wait couldn't generate link
@KritixiLithos dunno
^^
High five! šŸ–ļø
(high-five-emoji-here)
Now, who should post? :p i started it, you did about 2/3 of the job, and I finished it
We are not done yet, we still have to golf :P
17:35
| tr -cd '[]():,.+-' is enough IMO
[(:)+,-.]()+([-][-++][-+][-++][-+][--])+([-]+++++++[+++++++++++++-])+([-]+++++[+‌+++++++-])+([-]++++++[++++++++++-]--)+([-]++++:++)+([-]+++++:++)+([-]+++:+)+([-]++‌+:+++)+([-]+++:++++)+([-]+++:+++++)+([-]+++:++++++)+([-]++:++)+([-]+++++++++++++[‌[-++][-+]:+:[[-]+]-[[-.]+][-]+-])[-],[+++++++++++++++:,]
305 bytes, not bad
Wait, it bork ^^
Oops i forgot adding <> into the tr args
[(:<>)+,-.](>>>>>>)+([-]<<[->+>+<<]>>[-<<+>>]>>[-<+<+>>]<[->+<]<[-<->]<)+([-]++‌+++++[>+++++++++++++<-]>)+([-]+++++[>++++++++<-]>)+([-]++++++[>++++++++++<-]>--)+(‌[-]++++:++)+([-]+++++:++)+([-]+++:+)+([-]+++:+++)+([-]+++:++++)+([-]+++:+++++)+([‌-]+++:++++++)+([-]++:++)+([-]+++++++++++++[>[->+>+<<]>>[-<<+>>]<:>>+:[[-]>+<]>-[<‌<<<[-.>]>>>>>>+>>>>>]<<[-]<<+<-]>>>)[-]>>>>>>>,[<<<<<<++<+++++++++++++:>>>>>>,]
402 woah

Now who posts?
Dunno
2 days ago, by betseg
I think you should post the answer :D
But I want dem reps :p
Don't we all :)
You have less rep than me, you can post it
17:43
It should be I who posts it.
Haha yes
@Zaglo no, bad sock
Kicked it
Dec 22,23,24,25,26
4 days in total to make this submission
Posting it, then?
17:46
We should write an explanation tho
We can both write it together. After you post it, I can edit it and add anything you missed
Oop 2% charge, wait
Back
post it, make pbrain great again
10/10
I upvoted it
Should we post it on TNB shamelessly? :p meta.codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/10184/… allows it:
> it's also fine to promote your own posts if you genuinely think that the users in the chatroom would find it interesting.
Running the program now, there is a null byte at the end
> I just wrote the awesomest answer of all time! [Gimme upvotes!] [Not acceptable]
@KritixiLithos the newline :/
oh yeah, keep forgetting it
I golfed it
18:14
Edited the link
@KritixiLithos ah nice
Don't edit the post, I'm editing it now with the golfed solution :)
Wait, I'm getting 410 bytes instead of 402
^ The original solution you posted
Wat how
Put it into tio and see
goo.gl/KnBw8c 410 chars 426 bytes
Something is wrong
removed bad characters: tio.run/nexus/…
18:24
There are some nasty chars
Oops ninja'd
Now it is 402, better fix that into the link
Then I will update it with the slightly golfed solution
You edited, or..?
I'm editing it now
Edited it
Nice!
@betseg Maybe post it once the solution is more golfed
18:35
ik
I think I golfed it again
Jesus, man
Calm down :p
Sorry, this is so exciting!
Do you know Ubuntu bug #1?
No, what is it? (I've never used Ubuntu)
18:43
See Mark's closure comment here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1/comments/1834 ------ Microsoft has a majority market share in the new desktop PC marketplace. This is a bug which Ubuntu and other projects are meant to fix. As the philosophy of the Ubuntu Project states, "Our work is driven by a belief that software should be free and accessible to all." "Ubuntu software is free. Always was, always will be. Free software gives everyone the freedom to use it however they want and share with whoever they like. This freedom has huge benefits. At one end of the spectrum it enables the Ubuntu community to grow and share its collective experience and expertise to continually improve all things Ubuntu. At the other, we are able to give access to essential software for those who couldnā€™t otherwise afford it ā€“ an advantage thatā€™s keenly felt by individuals and organisations all over the world."      * http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/our-philosophy Non-free software leav

Woah it has a onebox?
Haha, Microsoft is full of puzzles
Will I win it too?
@Zaglo No. Bad sock.
;_;
@Zaglo No, betseg kick him again :)
18:49
NOOOOOOOO
TBH you look evil with your darth vader hat on
I'm not evil. I'm the almighty Zaglo.
@betseg Make me RO, I'll kick Zaglo :)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
18:54
Anyways, you can post the answer to TNB, it seems pretty golfed now :)
You post on TNB, I posted the answer :p
Done, are you in TNB?
Woah, SE notifies me if you edit code, and not if you edit text vody
@KritixiLithos yes, should i star it?
Star what? it's starred
Message on TNB
18:58
@betseg I was in a co-op answer before, and I got notified when code was edited
It only notifies if code is edited, not if text body is edited
ik, it's because code is more important than everything else in the world
Lol
Plz don't kick me ;_;
19:04
maybe include a link to this room in the answer so people can see how we wrote our answer
Good idea
Done
19:35
I pinned the solution
